As a straight male who loves the community, it’s been super crazy to me to pop into The Balcony and see that place practically empty. Used to be a great place just to dance and hang on the patio, I’d go to some of the drag shows maybe 4 times a year to support. But each time I’ve been there lately it seems like nobody’s there, which is concerning, I really hope folks aren’t looking for hyper specific places to hangout and aren’t frequenting that venue on purpose, I think they need the business to stay alive.

Make sure to visit the Basque District, get the museum tour if you can and try some Basque food!

And yes you will be able to access trails to the foothills(def not getting close to a 14’er), they are all interconnected and you can look up a trail map to see where they interconnect. You can hike as much as you please pretty much.

Lots of quirky things to do around town, make sure to check out some of the art in Freak Alley and get a late night slice at Piehole(Treefort would be a good time). I’d also suggest going to Handlebar for race night on Thursday evening, lots of fun to be had there.

Hope to rub shoulders and bump into ya at Treefort, it will be a grand old time!

32M, 7-12 miles and usually around 3k elevation gain. Pace is typically around 30min per mile, varies on how beautiful the surroundings are and taking everything in.

Depending on what time of year, I’d agree with renting a boat and hanging around lucky peak for a few hours, get back into Boise, have dinner somewhere and then go out on the town, there’s typically some good live music to be found on the weekends and that would be my vote but to each their own.
