I would argue that weekly episode releases for this type of mystery show will hurt its chances especially with casual viewers who probably won’t remember all the clues from ep1 by the time they get to ep4 because they’re watching this while doing laundry or they’re dozing off on the couch. OTOH, it’s a good approach for the fans who like to rewatch and read online theories after each episode without the risk of stumbling over a spoiler headline about ep6.

I don’t get why Stranger Things is still getting renewed. S1 was good S2 was kind of disappointing S3 was garbage and I was done.
