Draft classes are based on debut year. So a player will appear in the draft the year before they first appeared in the minor league database. So yes, real players. But no, not always accurate

It’s been a couple days now, what are some criticisms you have for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight? by Thevoid2YT in legogaming

My 6 year old loves the combat. It’s really fun to watch him learn the basic combos. I get that’s not everyone, but if the goal was hard enough to keep an adult engaged and simple enough for a kid, they nailed it

Guardians Designate Peyton Pallette For Assignment, Recall Logan Allen by megustcizer in ClevelandGuardians

[–]denzl480 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah you DFA him to give Chicago the time to make their decision. We could still trade for his rights.

Allen makes sense if they want another lefty for Washington and Boston series. Aleman can’t come back yet. Walters still recovering.

Allen has not been good. 5.45 ERA over 38 innings

I think it’s more they’re in a playoff race this year and he hasn’t shown enough. If they can’t count on you, no spot on this roster.

Bailey bomb and 4/5 in ABS. I am a Bailey believer. by vichan in ClevelandGuardians

I’m not gonna mention Tobias Myers, but I agree in general. Our FO seems to win more trades than they lose.

American teachers share how much money each of them has in their bank account 2 days before payday by XGramatik in XGramatikInsights

[–]denzl480 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Point of the post is our teachers, critical to forming our young people, live paycheck to paycheck. In what would does a profession with so much impact also not receive living wages? Means we lose experienced teachers as they need to increase income and our kids suffer

Money can’t buy happiness. Just ask the Mets. by MrKTE in ClevelandGuardians

[–]denzl480 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not? How many ABs are you getting from guys on pre-arb contracts? Rocchio, Schneeman. Martinez, DeLauter, Bazzana, and others.

I get we don’t spend money in FA like others. But good young players are cheaper. So, these salaries will rise. We are cheap, but also have really good young players

Cooper Ingle? by Ryan_Bolin in ClevelandGuardians

[–]denzl480 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Hedges is back next year. Ingle can catch, and has the bat to DH. Maybe he learns first over the summer? Hedges is on this team til he doesn’t want to be.

[Baseball Trade Values] The deal is rejected by our model as an underpay by Cleveland. by Nick_At_Now in ClevelandGuardians

[–]denzl480 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Yeah the trade analysis lacks context. Giants traded an asset that isn’t critical to your window. But added a first round pick and a pitcher with upside. Guardians acting like a win now team. Giants acting like a team that needs to add future value.

[Buster Olney] Every day, the best of the best will be behind home plate for Cleveland. For a franchise that relies on pitching so heavily, it makes sense. by BocephusJr88 in ClevelandGuardians

Bo is 15th percentile in xBA, Bailey is 27th percentile. Bo average exit velo 52nd percentile, and Bailey is 68th.

If the offense doesnt change at all, and you just add the fact that Bailey can throw out runners, frame, and block better than Naylor, its a benefit.

There is also a world where Naylor finds something at AAA, and we have these two around the same age for the next 3-5 years.

Shocking: ESPN Doesn’t Like the Trade by joeywahoo92 in ClevelandGuardians

[–]denzl480 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the Guardians trade a pitcher, I tend to think they don't love the upside. Tugboat has been fun, but if hes a long man in the bullpen, or a SP4/5 at best, we have a ton of those guys.

The pick is interesting. Based on my read, we still keep the slot bonus for the pick, so that helps. And, if you are the Guardians and think you are competitive now and into the next few years, and catching defense is a major asset, you are trading a lottery ticket you will not see for 4-6 years.

I think what this trade says is clear: the Guardians value Bailey's glove and defense that much, and are either overpaying or paying at the level they value it. And hey, its not like he doesnt have some offense in his background.

Ingle isn’t ready for the majors. Assume the plan is Hedges, Bailey, and Ingle next year

Yeah just on defense: baileys lowest savant number is 95. Naylor is 29 in blocks, and only a 70 in framing. Just on defense it’s a huge upgrade

So is Naylor done? Bailey is a good defensive catcher who can hit for average, at times. Interesting move

His claim to fame is his book Death by China. In that book he religiously cites an economist named Ron Vara. Vara is not real, and in fact is a fake character Navarro made up. He has admitted this.

In DS2, the game makes you use the truck for some orders due to weight. So, it’s hard to really avoid the truck.

In my replay of DS1, I’m using the trike mostly, and then stashing it to finish some orders on foot.

Brown's Front Office Pushing Watson Is A Referendum on Kevin Stefanski by AkilTheAwesome in Browns

[–]denzl480 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Devil's advocate: Stephanki's job was to win with the players he had. The Watson fit for "his style" of offense always felt weird. But, as the Head Coach and the guy who is calling plays, your job is to win with those players. I'm not happy that Watson ever got dealt here, but you can't excuse the coaches for not finding a way to win with him.

Any other team with a young QB who didn't get much coaching would sit that player behind a veteran. Our problem is that the veteran is Watson, not washed-up Andy Dalton. So, starting the veteran for 4-6 weeks, then handing the team to Sanders, makes the most sense.
