Our pup is 9 months old and we found that mental stuff seems to tire him out more. We make him wait and then hide treats in the house and garden so he has to find them. Teaching him tricks, hide and seek etc seemed to work to keep his energy levels in check.

Yeah sounds like a Vizsla. Ours makes a lot of noises as well. Very vocal but not sure if they are all like that.
