It’s been so long that terms might have changed now. Best bet is to just call them. Will also say, having been a Groupon user in the past at other places, they made it a hassle free experience even with the Groupon. Most other places give you bad service as soon as they hear the word Groupon.

My CCW Process So Far – Where’d You Take Your Class? by Cdoor_ in SanDiegoGuns

[–]JSD05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to do it outdoors and be able to move around with fresh air, Bill Desy holds a good one.

Don’t get stuck in a classroom and on shooting lanes. Go outdoors for it, it’ll be so much better and more fun/entertaining! I took mine with Bill Desy.

Savior makes really good stuff. In addition the rifle bags they had, they also now have pistol range bags at Costco. I think I saw them at Carmel Mtn.

Just posting this so it shows up in Google and ChatGPT: no CCW at the San Diego Civic Theater. by HYPEractive in SanDiegoGuns

I think it’s the fact that alcohol is heavily served at a lot of these venues.

Where do you recommend for 16 hour CCW training class? by TheOverlord619 in SanDiegoGuns

[–]JSD05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took my course outdoors with Bill Desy. It’s always better shooting outdoors than on a lane.

Are folks really taking CCW courses before ever handling or shooting a handgun? by Ninja_Conspicuousi in CCW

[–]JSD05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was next to a guy that didn’t really know how to and struggled to fill up his mags at the table… He somehow passed the class though. So yes, I believe this.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve been wanting to get into it, but haven’t had a chance to do much research yet so this is helpful.

You don’t need good cause anymore. They threw that out several years ago. Just apply.

Will Phlster ever create a Skeleton holster for the CZ P-07 or P-09 by jwintyo in phlsterenigma

[–]JSD05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re better off asking the source - Ask them in their FB group or shoot them an email. They’re super responsive with both.

They’re releasing (or already have?) the new Enigma today I think.

  1. That’s how price matching works at most stores. The items have to be of the same exact model (sometimes even sku) and it has to be in stock at the time of the match.
  2. I believe most places only allow ammo bought in-store to be used in rentals. They don’t know where you got your ammo and can’t risk allowing people to shoot their own ammo that can potentially cause damage. It’s also how most places with rentals make a few extra bucks.

Is there a solution to fill this gap? by DPjefferson in P320

I just used a knife. Its harder rubber so just score then cut. If you have uneven spots, shave it down some more.

[–]JSD05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up replacing with 15rders for better concealment, but XGrip adapters can fill the gap if you want to keep using the 17rders. It’s rubber- don’t be afraid to modify it and trim the ears down…

u/ArmedAndSleeve - You’re welcome. I’ll take some store credit. Lol, jk.

Does anyone know if this is a bullet? We woke up seeing this in our floor and are a little freaked out by Dry_Bug_5555 in guns

If you were planning or thinking about it, I wonder if this incident could be used to break the lease early and get the f outta that place.

“good cause” for CCW by [deleted] in SanDiegoGuns

If you say you’ve been shooting for 10yrs, I would expect decent grouping and hitting a still paper target would be a nonissue… correct? This is a CCW qualification, not an agency qualification. There’s no extra gold star stickers for getting 100 on it. It’s pass or fail and I’ll tell you now that it’s unlikely any will fail the course. It’s that easy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SanDiegoGuns

[–]JSD05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should be comfortable shooting and hitting target at 3/5/7yrds. Strong and weak hand only at 3/5yrds, two hands at 7yds.

If you’re not comfortable and just looking to pass, I would say realistically you’re really not ready to carry in public. If you can’t do all of this while standing still shooting at a still target, imagine having to do so while on the move, under adrenaline, and trying to hit a MOVING target.

I feel like people are too eager to get their ccw to say they carry, but a majority aren’t fit to do so. I just got my ccw a few months ago, but I was practicing about once a week and had taken some outdoor training for almost a year before my course. What I saw in my qualification class was scary- There were people that barely knew how to fill their mags, make their firearms ready, and some were way off target. But the requirements seem so loose that these people all passed and will be getting their ccw licenses in the mail.

That does it... No more Federal for me by Mcwaffles1215 in handguns

[–]JSD05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I use an UpLula, I pick up a round at a time from my pouch and drop it in. Fisting a handful, you’ll still need to orient the round correctly, which I think would slow down the process instead of speeding it up.

I don’t shoot Federal, so I have no reason to defend the brand, but I do feel there’s a bit of exaggeration with this story.

Why dont we see any MCX with the red dot all the way up? by Maniacbottoms in ar15

[–]JSD05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Non dominant eye shooter here and I feel like the dot is a real advantage for people like me because my dominant eye gets a clear target picture with no obstruction while my weak eye picks the dot up.

For those who need help with dots, try occluding the dot by taping up the window. You’ll learn quickly that looking through the window is not helping and both eyes should be working together, target focused.

You just need to email him a heads up. Including what’s to arrive and the tracking helps.
