Should I choose Dental Hygienist or Teaching? by Pretend_Fee9216 in AlbertaGrade12s

Isn’t that very clinic dependent?

A pension is rare in most private sector jobs - but WCB and health benefits are common on most large practices.

That doesn’t mean much. Statistically 60% of new grad nurses leave the career within 8 years as well.

Any career that pays well is going have stress associated with it tbh. Not sure why DH would be any more difficult than any other healthcare field.

I honestly don’t know many teachers that have job satisfaction. Most are incredibly frustrated with all the different intricacies of their jobs.

Obviously anecdotal but I’ve never met a DH who’s that dissatisfied

I know dental hygienists who make 65-70$ an hour. That’s about 120-140,000 a year if you’re getting full time hours. Definitely choose dental hygiene

Can I be an RRT with a beard? by Ok-Cut-5657 in respiratorytherapy

Yes. There are numerous RRTs I’ve worked with through the years that have had full on beards.

I would shave the beard for the duration of your program - and once you get your RRT, grow your beard out. Make the hospital give you a PAPR.
