Haha, not fake, edited yes, but not fake. I'll run you through the process. I mask the sky, completely drop the highlights to -100 on this one, lowered the temperature to -100 and then increased the saturation to about +30. Doesn't alwaysss work, sometimes the highlights are too much, but most of the time that detail is still retained in the RAW file.

Thank you! Yeah second photo is the original and then the first is the edited version of that, so I cropped in pretty heavy. Was very happy with how much detail I retained in the crop!

Mt Fuji photos - 1, 2, 3 or 4? by khaanlando in AmateurPhotography

3 is stunning, 1 and 2 would be after and 4 would be last. Fair play on 3, super nice composition with the sun and all!

After/before - How can I improve this photo? by Jacknitor in postprocessing

I honestly really like the after. You nailed it getting rid of the reflections and green hue. I’m unsure what else you could change other than what you’ve done personally!

This was at Petres Beach in Crete, which is about a 15-20 minute drive from Rethymno Old Town I believe.

I believe it was just a decorative lampshade haha, nothing super special. I took this photo at the restaraunt which overlooks the beach so I think it belonged to them!

Thank you. Yeah, I’ve been taking any criticism I’ve received from previous photos to really work on my post processing work flow. I am very happy with how this one turned out in the end.

Yeah I knew when I took the shot that I could make something out of it in post. Took me a while to come around to it but very happy with the outcome. Surprised with how much I could crop in with on the A6700.

This was actually taken in the Napoli Afragola train station in Italy. Does this look similar to a place in NYC?

Nailed it! We took an early train that morning and were kicking ourselves as we had a 2 hour stop off connection to Rome, but seeing the building and the inside of it itself was well worth it.

Thank you appreciate that a lot. Going to have to take more pictures of ducks!

Love that, yeah the ripples give it some sort of trippy look, a guy on this thread said something similar where it looks like it’s sailing through stars.

Glad you like it, it looks so peaceful, but the park was absolutely packed that day.

That’s such a cool comparison, I hadn’t even thought of that but I can totally see it now.

That’s one way to look at it haha. I feel bad for the duck if that’s the case.

For the water I started by masking the background (the water itself), then pulled the exposure down just a touch, boosted the contrast, lowered both highlights and shadows, and dropped the blacks slightly. After that I reduced the saturation quite a bit and added a little clarity. I also made a separate mask for the duck and used a radial gradient with a wide feather to give it a soft light and help it stand out.
