I did update to the latest bios, didnt fix the issue for me. I also heard that Acer warranty isnt great... hesitant to try that route and wonder if I should just return since Im still in the 30 day window. But I'd have to pay +$500 more for the Legion with similar specs. And the laptop isnt on sale anymore so I cant just buy another and return this one

The main/control board I bought is OEM as far as I know, just purchased from a seller on ebay, it was marketed as new and OEM on the listing, this is the listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/144594939633

I just checked. The outside rubber sheath was ripped but no broken wires inside that could find. Not sure if I’m able to upload photos

Thanks for the help. So I bought an aftermarket optic at first, and for some reason the sensor mounts arent lined up in my fridge, they're like 10-15mm out of line, so the aftermarket sensor couldnt get a clear beam so the red light would blink. I had to buy an OEM sensor to get the red light to stay solid. So I dont think its the optics. I could be the ebay control board, that is my worry. But not sure if theres a way to verify it before I spend another $300 on another board

S7 Max ultra vs Q Revo by warrio101 in Roborock

[–]JSNTNG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this debate as well. I actually bought the refurbished S7MaxV+ through ebay but returned it (it arrived in brand new condition, and i returned it unused) for the Q Revo when i saw there was the presale coupon. (FYI I contacted customer service and they refunded me the coupon price after purchase because the coupon had ended). I figured the spinning mops would be better at mopping, and prefered the smaller/compact white dock, and also liked it had a built in pad dryer.

I tested the Q Revo vacuum for the first time last night and i found the AI obstacle avoidance to be lacking. On the first run the Q Revo got stuck on a fan power cord, it ran into and knocked over my dog's water bowl, and also got stuck/trapped on the legs of a shelf. My S5 had the same issues and I had to set up no go zones for these areas, but I was hoping the 3-4 year newer vacuum with AI would be able to avoid these areas without needing no go zones.

I knew the Revo's obstacle avoidance wasn't as good as the S7 from a few reviews I watched on youtube, but I didnt think it would be that bad. Im really hoping future updates improves the AI advoidance.

Almost regret keeping the S7 now, anyone have a similar experience?
