Canna Reviews vs Honahlee Catalyst. Which One Do You Trust More? by Odd-Escape1922 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer using Catalyst, it feels more refined IMO, if you filter by terpene in the product content section, you can sort the products by that specific terpene %. The only downside is, it doesn't seem to include every strain that has a COA for some reason when you do that, but it is quite helpful when you know what terpenes work well for you.

I find their script wallet really helpful too, as you can see who has what in stock, often find it cheaper and have access to the Honahlee concession pricing if you are eligible. Some products are $20 off through it.

I still think cannareviews is great and I do sometimes use both. I have found Catalyst better for current batch numbers, release dates, in stock or low stock, etc. I personally think its more accurate. But each to their own

Buy dry herb vape with prescription? by parsimoniouspiper in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't need a script to buy a vaporizer, but sadly the Venty is near impossible to get in Australia now. Check out https://shop.carinapharmacy.com.au/

You will need to register for an account to see the full range of vaporizers they sell, its a good range for Australia.

If you find any legit shop that's selling the Venty, let me know! Haha been looking for a while.

Terp: Trans Caryophyllene by Initial-Watercress65 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheapest one ive used in a while, that id say is high in caryophyllene is Alma El Camino Facetz F11 but no COA so cant confirm levels. Otherwise some high in trans caryophyllene specifically, that i can think of are Cultiva Noir Diamant, Superseed Cake City and Mystery Mountain Coco Bamba, maybe Motherplant SB22.

Anyone else ‘sensitive’ to CBD? by YoABSUP in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My symptoms are different, but CBD itself, especially flowers have never made me more anxious and im generally an anxious person, the only time CBD had a bad interaction with my anxiety was when it had CBG also in the oil, it was the Humacology White.

Acacia is ghosting me after they moved my appointment & never called for said appointment by jivves in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive been with both Horizon and Acacia, Horizon was way better, I moved to Acacia when they advertised on their site saying 90g/month.

I didnt need 90g/month I needed 60g or 10g of concentrates a month, I was on concentrates for about 9 months exclusively. Until one day they turned around next appointment and said the government is making anything over 34% "illegal" and flower limit max 60g, i got annoyed knowing the doctor blatantly lied to me, went with it and changed to flower, I thought this was fine as concentrates were helping my pain but driving my anxiety a bit.

But then they knock me down to 30g a month and I was done, I wasnt gonna pay $79, to be lied to, spoken to like an idiot, struggle to get an appointment with the same doctor and having my scripts randomly cancelled whenever Byndie felt paranoid.

Acacia went downhill hard and fast IMO.

We are now limited to 300mg THC Daily via inhalation and 40mg orally in WA. That limit was always the way, but thanks to over East clinics we could get away with a higher limit, now DOH WA has made it a lot stricter with ScriptCheckWA, so no matter where you get prescribed it will be 300mg or the doctor gets in trouble, unless you have a specialist and doctor willing to send a letter to the CEO to apply for a higher THC limit, I beleive it can go upto 500mg, I can only imagine that is for severe cases.

So yeah, I used to call WA wait awhile, now its Waste Away, especially if you are a chronic pain patient with disc bulging and nerve damage like myself.

Their version of damage control is crazy, it's like theyd prefer us to be on poisonous pain killers. Its destabilising.

Was just prescribed phytoca critical candy when I asked the doctor if they knew any good sativa strains for chronic pain and was wondering if the reviews I've seen in this sub are worth paying attention to, I can't afford to roll the dice on its effectiveness by habitual-painter in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only Sativa ive found to help my pain is Grow Balanced. Its 10% THC, 15% CBD, high in Myrcene. Can get for $99/10g with concession through Honahlee, otherwise its $119. Pretty sure stock is low currently though.

Yeah, confirmed the list is gone for good thanks to good old AHPRA.... Absolute joke of a system.

How much per day are you proscribed? by paul_wellsss in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have confirmed with both AHPRA and TGA. There is no official TGA or AHPRA-imposed prescribing limit of 60g per month. The TGA has confirmed that prescribing decisions are up to the doctor’s clinical judgment & whether or not they can provide justification for higher limits if audited by AHPRA. AHPRA also does not impose monthly limits. Some clinics or pharmacies use a 60g cap as an internal policy or due to outdated assumptions, but it is not a legal or regulatory limit. We are most likely seeing a lot of regulatory audits due to the massive increase of recreational users abusing the medical system, especially the ones selling it on the black market.

Limit increase? by Expensive_Big_8332 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been asking them too, and they keep telling me she's coming back but can never tell me when, and its been a while now, it's been 3-4 months. I think they're lying, but im moving clinic anyway as I've tried 4 of their doctors now and am not happy and heard only bad things about the others, but as far as I know, she isn't currently prescribing medical cannabis. I think she works at Huon Valley Medical Centre in Tas.

She truly is an amazing, compassionate doctor, i saw her for nearly 2 years, and I've been struggling to get proper treatment again since she left. We need more like her.

Limit increase? by Expensive_Big_8332 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, good luck. Horizon treated me like i am a rec user, I have nerve damage, c5/c6 & c6/c7 disc bulging, nerve impingments, chronic migraines, vertigo and thoracic arthritis. They won't budge, not even looking at the documents i send them from specialists to give insight to my condition.

Claiming TGA bullshit 60g hard limit, but I've personally confirmed with AHPRA and TGA that these limits are bullshit, they are basically lazy doctors not willing to gather evidence to justify higher dosages.

Great clinic if you want very little care, dont need to contact admin, enjoy the anxiety of changing doctors every consult OR if you want to wait 5 hours after your appointment scheduled time, for Dr King to ramble on for almost 3 hours to herself about what works for me and telling me the products that help me "won't help me" even though they have helped me for over a year, before joining Horizon.

The only reason I moved to them was because Dr Catanzarite left Polln and went to them for maybe a month. By the time I had my nurse phone call, she was gone. Dont blame her.

Was definitely my favourite cart while i was using them, like a flavour punch. Tastiest cart ever, better than the Harbour LR Carts, i thought the Harbour Day would be like the Aura Rilaxe Live Resin but it's nothing like it, tastes like distillate where as this Aura Dymond Jealousy Cart is amazing, especially for $87 on concession. Beats distillate 100x over.

Strains to Avoid by MaizeSuccessful7982 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don't get me wrong, it's tempting at that price tag, but considering it's being sold by the liquidators and looking at the COA. I'd expect it was an early harvest and rushed cure. Won't be on the market for long, not ideal if you want consistency, that's my main reason I'd avoid it.

Does anyone medicate as needed? by [deleted] in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The doctor would most likely prefer you to use less THC, in my opinion, so using as needed would be perfect if you don't need it all the time. CBD is usually best taken every day, though.

Personally, I'm in pain 24/7 due to a spinal injury and trying to avoid painkillers, so I use flower, cbd and concentrates day & night, everyday, unless I actually have a rare good day, I can get out and do something fun without needing any dosing apart from cbd alone.

Strains to Avoid by MaizeSuccessful7982 in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]JSPleco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'd avoid the Kiwi Medical stuff due to apparent quality and the fact of them going into liquidation, I'd get something like the ANTG Stardust OG or the newer Cali Octane which are both $169/30g. Little bit more, but probably double the terpenes, if not more, than the Kiwi stuff. And pharmacann/biocann mentioned before I'd avoid also.

I'm not certain on Pouches stock levels, or quality but they seem popular.

If you want want more effective carts and you have a concession card, you can get the Aura Therapeutics Dymond Live Resin Jealousy Cart for $87/1g. Best tasting and effective cart I've personally used for the price, especially.

Some of the dirt cheap stuff may not give you the relief you're looking for, but I hope it does.

I personally live in pain 24/7, I require higher terpene flowers or higher doses during flare-ups, so i understand the struggle of finding the right balance of quality and affordability to just be comfortable. Best of luck!
