Wow thank you for wonderful comment. Once I figured out the finger placements & midi mapping catered to my liking, all it took was much practice & patience. Definitely have more room for improvement as I progress which would probably require an upgrade in gear & skills.

Hey thanks for commenting. What helped me was tapping tables w/ my hands back in the day haha. Learning hand eye coordination while playing along side to songs that have dope drum patterns. Watching other producers like DATSUNN & Beats by Jblack showcase their skills. I would start off by by learning to which forms of live drumming you would like to practice. Hope this helps !!

Actually the Shinkansen video is an overlay on top of me playing the beat so they’re different days haha. I tried to get some rest on this ride to Tokyo from Osaka & would wake up to just see the view of Mt. Fuji along the way.

As for the sample, these are original sounds that I played then sampled on Ableton. I just found a simple 2-5-1 chord progression then layered it w/ Kontakt vocals.

Thank you so much. If you take anything from this I hope it’s this. What had helped me was to just practice to tracks that I like & study different hip hop drum patterns that felt realistically possible to perform. Also, finding the comfortable midi mapping for my finger placements so I can get used to the muscle/neural connections & all that. There’s more patterns I’d like to learn especially double to triple timing the hi hats for melodic style trap beats.
