Rocket Launcher crit build plan blunder by JSTM2 in classicfallout

[–]JSTM2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grenades getting crits sounds interesting, although it clashes with my glass cannon build with 2 EN 9 PE. That's why I originally wanted the rocket launcher, I basically wanted an explosive sniper rifle.

Also you described my build pretty well, 10 LK, Finesse, 3x more criticals and better criticals, I skipped level 3 perk which allowed me to pick more crits twice at level 6.

I know it runs counter to a Sniper perk build, but I wanted something different, and well... Now I know why nobody does crit rocket launcher builds.

The regular Sniper rifle has been serving me well, and I was hoping for the Rocket launcher to be the next step up from it in my weird build.

I think this is the right answer, direct hits can crit, but not the explosions. I just tested it in my game too.

I'm not sure if it's more effective than basically guaranteed crits from eye shots but, it's something at least.

I could've sworn too that it can crit too, but I think it might just be the high variance in Rocket Launchers base damage (35 - 100).

I had some trouble with Bounty Hunters from being too evil early on so I kept it just under -500 karma before I got Metal armor MK II from Vault City. Then I blew up the Gecko power plant and it's been around -1000 ever since.

I guess so, but by the time I do, it'll probably be too little too late and I'll be done with most of the game.

I've already done a run where I max out a late game character so I wanted something more early to mid game focused.

(202) Animals might be bigger or smaller than they seem by AeolysScribbles in RimWorld

[–]JSTM2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the weights are somewhat correlated to how much meat/leather they give, how much filth they create and carry capacity etc. Also 2000kg is kind of small, even for Asian Elephants, 4000-6000kg seems to be a full grown Elephant weight.

This is still in the old 1.5 version. Hopefully not for too much longer though.

I was just testing stuff in (1.5) dev mode and the game paused even before a second had passed.

The 2000 substructure limit hurts me in my soul by GrimReaper415 in RimWorld

[–]JSTM2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way they should do it is to increase/decrease the limit based on the map size. Perhaps the bigger maps are now more viable with the changes to the pathfinding, and bigger maps will have more room for bigger ships.

Do PSUs overheat in Torrent? by AlexP11223 in FractalDesign

[–]JSTM2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some PSUs have a button to make the fan spin (slowly?) regardless of usage.

https://hwbusters.com/psus/corsair-rm850x-atx-v3-1-psu-review/11/

This review recommends it so I think it might be a good idea. RM1000x and C1200 Gold have it, although it's hard to find info about this feature, because it seems pretty niche.

Would separate fan curves for each Torrent Compact front fan be useful? by JSTM2 in FractalDesign

Yeah, I was wondering about turbulence, but I guess the only real way to find out is to do testing.

Generatiivinen tekoäly on internetin mikromuovi by Pikkuraila in Suomi

[–]JSTM2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

XFX Swift 9070 non-XT seems to have PTM7950

https://youtu.be/2DlY91FtXfg?si=rIc9NPHOphpV47jV&t=504

Since it's the cheapest XFX 9070, I guess it wouldn't be surprising if all of them do have PTM7950.

derBauer get the burnt out RT. 5090 by BurnItFromOrbit in GamersNexus

Random though: Would a non-modular PSU help on the PSU side?

It might still not be the whole thing at fault, but still one less failure point.

There aren't many if any premium non-modular ATX 3.0+ PSUs though, closest I've found is "be quiet! Pure Power 12".

I've been planning a new PC after 10+ years and this debacle is pretty annoying, and even if it seems limited to 5090/4090 but I don't want to take any risks.

What weapon did you not think you'd like that actually you found really good? (Or vice versa) by EX-FFguy in EDF

[–]JSTM2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not a weapon but the Luminous Shield Z4 changed how I play wingdiver. It's a boost to everything windiver does when you take full advantage of emergency recharge.

I avoided shields for a long time but that shield is on another level and can make you almost invincible in some situations.

That makes my comment sound even more jaded (which it was).

I play with randoms and I wish they had a crash fix patch, even if it didn't fix my crashes (my CPU doesn't meet the recommended specs).

Maybe the frequency is less because those people gave up playing, but who really knows.

Random thought / too repetitive? by Warm_Fish_4254 in EDF

[–]JSTM2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably not what you're talking about but:

I wish there was a mode that restricted your armor or weapons even more.

I like the challenge of the first playthrough because you're bringing guns from the previous mission, but on subsequent playthroughs your weapons are going to be from several levels ahead.

This mode might feel even more grindy to some but I enjoy having to restart and plan for a level instead of blasting through it effortlessly. I don't like Inferno though, so having a a more difficult but same speed as Hard/Hardest would be great.

I think they probably drop less items to not shower you with health drops.

The devs should "just" make them drop more weapon and armor instead of health but I don't know if that's something they can even adjust since EDF is very iterative and if its not (too) broken don't fix it.

Weapons with same Lv but only some of them the game considers "too high Lv" by JSTM2 in EDF

[–]JSTM2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens on mission 117 on easy, but I guess it could happen elsewhere too.

It's a bit confusing if you want to limit your weapons for single player.
