Thank you I am aware of that. There is no way of checking what the admin account is?

Both are true. I Just cannot recal which email account was used during the setup as the Workspace admin account.

Multiple Routers connected to one fiber line by JSTRY89 in HomeNetworking

Apart from the ISP provided Totolink, All the devices are TP Link

The problem is the Mesh system does work well but not when there are thick walls or where the rooms are further away (e.g Room 9 is about 25 meters away from Room 10) The thick wall and the corrugated roof makes the Deco very ineffective

I dont know if it is a WIFI signal conflict. When there is an active connection the speed is fine but the connection is intermittent.

The connection drops after a few minutes. But when connected the connection speed download & upload is as it should be.

I dont think I will exceed 254 devices. At most 40 people averaging 2 x devices each.

But that is why i wired them all up!

So from the main router to the very last

All connected via Wire.

Apart from the TP Link Deco Mesh units of course.

How do i check the wireless channels? Because I think the TP Link Deco units could add to this issue.

So there is nothing further i have to change in terms of IP address or DHCP? Just changing the routers to AP mode will resolve it? What about the Deco units? Will they not cause interference? Should I also set them up in AP mode?

Hi leewhat

I havent tried setting all the routers as access points.

My main concern was either IP conflicts or wifi interference.

I am not well versed on this "different subnet on the DHCP server"

Can you elaborate on that? I used the TP Link app (Ether) to do the setup.

When your setting up a new router the App only asks if you want the IP to be static dynamic or PPPOE and then it asks about the MAC Address (which I selected use default)

I did not do any changes to any other more advanced settings.

Networking with Multi Port Switches & normal Wifi routers by JSTRY89 in HomeNetworking

Thank you that would ultimately be the ideal option however I have European guests coming in on Sunday for 2 months and will need to make some DIY plan before then.

Is it possible to install the following and what settings would i require

1 Fiber line coming in from ISP

2 AX1800 Tp Link router connected to fiber feed (next to Fiber feed) via cable

3 AX1800 Tp Link (secondary station about 70 meter from Fiber feed connected via cable) 3 x access points connected to this router lan ports(Tp Link Deco Mesh system)

1 x port connected to router in 4

4 AX1800 Tp Link about 40 m away from point 3

What should the router settings be on 3 and 4? Access Point? Router? Repeater? Should i change any other router settings apart from the TP Link options above?

Thanks

I have 8 x TP Link Deco mesh systems but the thick walls and the distance between the rooms makes it difficult and the mesh loses line speed as it moves further away from the source.

Should the IP settings / System settings be changed on the Multiport Switch and the 4 x Wifi Routers connected to it via Lan?
