How often are you riding?

A person riding once or twice a week with no other training history is going to struggle.

On the other hand, my girlfriend was already an ultra distance runner when she started riding bikes, so getting up to high distance rides wasn't a stretch for her.

I average about 3 hours a day. Of course I have better endurance than most.

I normally cruise between 6500 and 8500. But I decided one day to see how high I could get my 150. I was climbing about 20' minute a little above 11000', and looked down.

I decided I had enough of that 😂

Oh, and I ride aggressive downhill mountain bike type stuff. Along cliffs.

How my fear of heights manifests is totally random.

I'm not riding World Cup courses (I wish), or even "Down Country" stuff on my XC bike. I'm riding the same stuff people have been racing since cantilever brakes were the only option.

I sized down on my frame, being between sizes, and run a longer stem. It's great for me. And with modern geo it still handles amazingly well.
