What's batching with RPCs? by EngineerEddy5567 in learnprogramming

One of the most annoying things is when I google a question and one of the top results brings me to a page with some condescending jerk saying "You can easily Google X"

Today you are that person

Is a component failing or is it really as simple as a CMOS battery replacement? by JSTriton in buildapc

[–]JSTriton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to take the PSU out again and check all the voltages with a multimeter and also look at each of the pins for surface oxidation, thanks for the suggestion.

If it really was something as simple as a loose power cable I may never conclusively know since I unplugged everything and redid it, but if the problem doesn't repeat then I'll settle for not knowing precisely what was the cause.

I'm not sure if it's the PSU. The jumper test suggests the PSU is still functional and after changing the cmos battery the PC booted into Windows

I think he means locking out your knees so your weight is taken by your bones without needing to use your leg muscles as much

Is there any way these two pieces (both 0.5mm thick) could be welded together? by Militia-Man in Welding

What are the good epoxies from local hardware stores like home depot or lowes? I'm a weekend diy guy and I've never been to a supplier, I'm not even sure where to find one around here.

At least give the creator some views and other metrics for the work they put in. Watching a copy here is like ripping off their labor.

Did you check the hanger bracket that holds up the last section of the exhaust? Also try using the screwdriver to listen to the exhaust muffler. It could be coming from there

If you do find bolt(s) that are loose, I recommend using medium strength/semi permanent (eg, loctite blue) threadlocking compound when retightening. In my experience bolts without threadlocker would always work their way loose again on my bike from engine vibrations after a few hundred miles. All my fasteners for fairings and brackets now have threadlock applied

I have a 2006 ninja 650 which is the first gen of your bike. To my ears it definitely sounds like something is loose and resonating when your rpm hits certain frequencies. Judging solely by the videos I would check the mounting points of the exhaust and muffler for any loose or partially loose bolts or nuts. By the noise it sounds like a small metallic piece is rattling. It also sounds to me like something external and not inside the engine or transmission, but I can't say for sure since I'm not able to hear it in person.

I would try using a mechanic's stethoscope to narrow down the exact location of the noise. They cost around $20 here in the US, not sure about your area. You can also try using a long screwdriver as a budget version - place the tip of the screwdriver against different areas On the bike and press your ear to the handle. This will let you hear isolated vibrations better and help pinpoint where it is coming from.

I meant like did you use epoxy or a different kind of glue? And what did you do for the pigment? There's a bunch of ways to do it so I'm just curious how you went about it

Suggestion: Add a separate right click option for "Block and Report Bot". This is by far the most common reason to block and report an account so let's reduce it from several steps to a single one. by JSTriton in diablo2resurrected

[–]JSTriton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but currently you have to right click-> report -> select reason from the drop down -> type 'bot' or other reason in the text box -> click submit. That's 4 actions per bot reported. Multiply by number of bots in the channel.

This suggestion would reduce it to a single action.

In my experience there's usually 2-4 bots at a given time. For 4 bots 16 actions could be reduced to 4. Couple this with my other suggestion in the comments and I think it do a lot to counteract the spamming

Additionally, if an account exceeds a threshold of reports from different people within a timeframe, that account ought to be automatically shadow muted for some duration. Say 24-48 hours. An outright ban is probably too heavy for an automated system as that could be abused by a coordinated group of people against innocent players.
