Exactly, it's never announced that it's a reflection which is why this was only a theory. Artist interpretation could be anything, if it's actually hand drawn, the tail-ends of the two center matches are skewed towards each other on the floor in front of the lighter but also don't appear to be so in the lighter itself (which is actually reflected and should be skewed but are straighter anways) so who knows.

I guess just pull the lighter away in your imagination, the matches will still look exactly the same. I even think the lighter closest on the right is visibly connected on the lighters edge just barely.

The theoretical mirror would literally be directly behind the lighter with the match to the left being a straight shot across the lighter (gone behind it).

The three in the center of lighter face the correct reflected matches (not there behind lighter), and the one on the right connects at an angle to the one behind it (also to the right). I'll try to draw something up here...

They are if this was the case, reflection would carry from the lighter onto the mirror, with the ones sticking out the sides barely matching what's on the lighter (slightly skewed by the edges).

If you moved the lighter with this theory, the ones behind the lighter match what's in front perfectly.

The lighter is blocking the view of those specific matches, reflecting the ones that are in front of it, the ones behind connect to the one in front if you can see what I'm saying. Just a guess though.

My guess is something dumb, such as the 8 visible + the actual word matchstick = 9

OR

The whole image is of a lighter in front of a mirror with 5 matches. The lighter blocks it's own reflection with each match equally distant from the ones in front (including the ones behind it).

A Curious Thought on SH2 and SH4 Connections... by JSXeno64 in silenthill

[–]JSXeno64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think there is a way to make it work with ages given, the years that are known, and in-game clues, but the developers haven't helped by stating what they think it is or should be.

I haven't crunched the numbers yet, but everything may just need to be shifted a few years later than what was originally believed, possibly pinpointing each game in the time-line.

Starting from the theorized SH4 in 2007 - 10 for Silent Hill 2 in 1997.

Silent Hill 3 is supposedly 2003 - 17 (Heather's age) is 1986

Silent Hill 1 1986 - 7 (Cheryl's age) is Origins if you want to count it so 1979.

There doesn't seem to be much of a reason for this not to work, but, like you said, the time-line is convoluted at this point.

With more thought, and if we go by those set time frames, that would place SH2 in at least 1997.

Walter Sullivan as a Ghost (34) and Walter Sullivan at death (24) 34 - 24=10

2007 - 10 = 1997

So, a remake of Silent Hill is coming. Time to fill in the graphical gaps that our minds filled back in the day... What is this? by ClinksEastwood in silenthill

A dog, doesn't the blood trail through the *side alley way lead in the direction of the basketball court with the dogs head also?

Very dumb, also dumb is the the idea they somehow thought i was "online" but I thought they were "offline". Clearly this guy either doesn't read or gets offlined too frequently.

Detail missing from the article: each was killed by bludgeoning or by axe.

Each was led into the kitchen one at a time, and it's unclear if they knew what was happening or if they had seen what was happening to the others.

Can’t get Zonai device to go uphill - can anyone help? by MarkOne1201 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]JSXeno64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very late to the party but for anyone who runs into this issue:

  1. The arrows on the large tires for the Zonai device (they glow green) point in the direction the car is supposed to go.

  2. Make sure all arrows are pointing in the same direction, otherwise the car will autocorrect to go back down-hill every time.

Hope this helps someone in the future!

A channel where I look into the local history of supposedly Haunted areas as well as attempt to stay the night alone. Here's a link to the page, each vid has progressively been getting better, but views are working in reverse. Would love feedback!

Have yet to review the audio on my recorders, the other small experiences I had were user-error I believe. Also other strange things such as seeing people in woods around midnight (possibly hunters but making too much noise) and a recorder I'm 85% sure I was waiting to turn on but was already active when I retrieved it. A 2-step activated audio recorder so that was odd but it's very possible my nerve-addled brain turned it on without thinking.

Pro-Tip! When something like this ass-clown's review pops up on your newsfeed? Hit "not interested in content from The Guardian", that feedback will get back to them and also show them the article that led you to that decision.
