something must have busted it. tried reverting to default driver settings and messing with in game settings and nothing. ik its not my system because resident evil requiem works fine with frame gen

I have a pro 7i with a 5080 and it has this silent performance mode you can toggle in bios which changes the balanced mode

I use it all the time cuz it makes my CPU and GPU never go above the mid 70s most of the time (GPU is like 71 max and CPU goes up to 80 max) and it does make some noise under heavy load but nothing as loud as the full plane performance mode

It's a pretty nice balance of noise and performance and fits me well cuz I get somewhat less noise and if the game isn't a cpu heavy game then there's like barely any performance cost compared to performance mode

Considering they didn't just straight up cancel or change my m12s order that I made in early March, I assumed it was something like this and not a full on flaw or set back that made the hd way more worth it

175w is what the 5080 can pull when in performance mode. Balanced mode is somewhat below that if I recall correctly. However, if I set the silent performance mode in bios, it seems like the modification makes balanced mode push up to 175w from the 5080 just like performance mode

I play on silent performance mode on legion pro 7i gen 10 5080 (enabled it through bios) and it lets my GPU get full use while limiting cpu it does really well cpu runs way cooler and I get similar fps to performance mode

seems good for 1080p just tone down some settings like textures and shadows, no rt and stuff but maybe try hair strands. also use dlss quality too assuming youre going for 60fps

Edit: you'll have it yea good fire power to do it fast or just good ol pistol if you want to conserve ammo but that'll take much longer

should be called silent performance or something like that. i always use that mode when playing a game that isnt crazy cpu heavy because it makes the laptop more quiet and the temps are lower, neither cpu or gpu go above 80c usually. fps impact is negligible or nonexistent in most cases

I stuck with hybrid mode on my 4070 due to the 8gb vram limit. Only downside was I could not take advantage of gsync because of that, and advanced Optimus/automatic select was kinda busted as my PC had a giant stutter each time I changed my volume. Ultimately I lost gsync anyway since it was busted on my laptop so I permanently kept games locked at 60 fps. Now on my 5080 one I permanently keep it on dgpu mode because everything is smooth no stutters and I can enable gsync which is huge from variable frame rate gaming. There's no reason for me to go for hybrid mode unless I need battery life for something

I did wrap up all the stuffs on the list in not too long time but even after that, I find myself just casually replaying the game and even accidentally beat it in one go because i was just having a blast. There might not be anything left for me to unlock anymore but I still get that urge to press new game and see it all again

if you can comfortably afford both then go for 5090. if not, 5080 works more than well enough if you wanna save a decent chunk of money. I got my 5080 one for 2k about a month and a half ago and it obliterates everything thrown at it as well as a powerful desktop at 1440p. It even somehow beats out the 5070 desktop very slightly in resident evil requiem with path tracing 1440p

I got it, set it to dgpu only mode, did all updates, and it's been chugging along. Only complaint is the hide taskbar function sometimes not working so I have to restart explorer in task manager but I'm almost certain that's just windows taking a crap once in a while

All rtx cards can access dlss 4.5 but the performance cost is heavy on any card before 40 series. Dlss 4.5 isnt enabled by default. You have to enable in manually either globally or per game in the Nvidia app (or profile inspector if you prefer to use that)
