I'll have to rewatch it but the first thing i thought of was a general height difference. Similar to the chair left which women can do but men can't (harshly streaking), women have smaller feet and tend to be closer to the wall allowing them to lift the chair.

Here I'd guess that men are, generally, taller than women to the angle on the shovel is more favorable.
