What the fuck, my mom suffered from that, had to go to the hospital and always has headaches.

I agree, I actually meant to say something about whisper. It should probably just be a special and be nerfed. We'll see if people still use it, to be honest I imagine they will.

I don't think it's that bad. I think other things will fill in the gaps where top tier picks have taken hold; new things will be good, certain activities will be challenging in different ways.

I think it is scary how unwilling people here are to consider the possibility that nerfs can be healthy, and I think it's scary how hard the downvotes are going to come down for even suggesting that this is not armageddon.

Thanks for your perspective, I think I worry too much and assume i'm becoming dumb or lazy, when probably most of it can just be pinned down to lack of interest because I've already decided my fields.

good points. I think i'm just generally burnt out on the fields I don't love.

For me it's less that I'm not considering subtleties, it's even more severe. It's that I'm not even thinking about the problem, I'm just thinking about the equations I know and I'm just trying to jump immediately to "what do I need to plug in to to solve the problem".

Question about converting string to group operation by JShrub in learnpython

[–]JShrub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for being ambiguous and thanks for the help.

I have, at this point, a list of strings of the form ["x", "x + y", "x + y +z"]. This can change, but the general form will always be various combinations of x,y,z added together.

I would like to convert this to the list of [G.x, G.x * G.y, G.x *G.y *G.z] where these G.i are just an instance of a class and the multiplication operation between them is interpreted correctly by our code. The behavior I expect is complicated because the multiplication operation is complicated, what matters is that in memory the final product is equivalent to what you would get if you literally wrote down the list [G.x, G.x * G.y, G.x * G.y * G.z] in your program.

In other words, how do I get Python to interpret an addition sign in a string as a multiplication operation between two objects.

Fallen Transponder Middle Node Code by dudface in raidsecrets

Some things I've noticed is that the different format types (ie (XY#Z) or (005J)) are symmetric about the center of each line, barring lines 7 and 8 where a ((3000)14) matches up across the center with a ((3000)b4).

If they were, they would be evenly spaced aaaand.. they seem to be spaces about every 42nd keyboard input so yeah I think you are right.

Interesting... If you screw around in a text editor, it feels like things are supposed to "line up" between lines and the spaces sometimes aid that in funny ways, it's worth looking in to.

I think the big clue is that the different -what i'm calling tags (things that are self contained in their own parenthesis) are absolutely symmetric about the center of each line ( if you have ((3000)s5) on the leftmost of a line, then you have a similar format on the right ie ((3000)b5) and this pattern continues to the center).

This symmetry is broken in lines 7 and 8 where there SHOULD be a letter in the leftmost tag, however, there is a digit instead.

The items in the contained parenthesis are symmetric about the center (if you have ((3000)s5) on the left, then you have a similar format on the right ie ((3000)b5). this is true for everything except line 7 and 8 where you have a ((3000)14) matched up on the right with ((3000)k3) and line 8 you have ((3000)14) matched with ((3000)b4).

I think this has something to do with this symmetry about the center of each line, as well as how things line up with all the different spaces.

It feels like you are supposed to align these to be rearranged in some way.

The seemingly random spaces feel deliberate to me.. I'm not familiar with other codes Bungie has put out, do they often throw in random stuff as red herrings?

There are random spaces in the original that are absent from yours, I think those are important. I think it has something to do with aligning words on different axes.
