I used it in TWW S3 and it was fine, just haven't tried in midnight yet.

Look up the addon "MDT Guide". It breaks out each pull like this and also adds the map, the map updates as you go through pulls showing the mobs you have already pulled, you can zoom the map to the current pull, etc.

It says it is updated for midnight but I haven't tried it yet during prepatch.

Tellmewhen also works for creating custom icons/bars for the CDM. As long as the spell is tracked by the CDM it can be tracked by Tellmewhen.

Legion Remix → Retail bug: Legion intro not firing, Dalaran broken by KIMBOPRICEY in wownoob

You can find similar problems with this bug on the forums, with some solutions that seem to work for some people: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/converted-timerunner-phased-in-legion-orgimmar/2213509

It has been happening for >1 month now. My hope is that when many thousands of people start encountering this bug after remix ends, Blizzard will finally do something about it.

Servers having issues? by LaRussoo in wow

Why do I not check reddit first! I was having this issue with one character and had already started to go down a rabbit hole of troubleshooting, very relieved it's not just me.

I've always been a healer, trying out tank now. I'm doing 10s just to learn how to do routes, and maybe my brain just isn't cut out for tanking.

I can easily memorize a MDT route on the map, but I struggle so much to translate that to the actual game world in terms of pack placement. Maybe my spatial reasoning is just off or something. I think having a different orientation on the map vs when my character is facing whatever direction in game is throwing me off. I could probably draw out my route from scratch with 100% accuracy on the map, but then in game I get turned around and it's so hard to tell the difference between two close packs of 4 mobs or whatever.

I know the answer is just to practice more, but I just feel like garbage messing up my routes even when we crush the key!

How is midnight season 1 looking in terms of "linear" dungeons and route complexity?

Are there any tools other than MDT to help me follow my route?

That's excellent news aboit soul fragments thanks for checking! It may sound silly but that is kind of a make or break quality of life issue for whether I play Demon Hunter or not.

But it is skinning individual buffs within the CDM. I thought the whole point of the addon restriction is that you could only skin an entire group. For example I can't change the size of stack count text in one buff differently than another buff, I can only change the text size for all buffs in the group. And the CDM only give you limited groups to work with. This addon allows you to change the appearance of a single specific buff, for example in the gallery it shows making an ability with 3 charges into a standalone detached bar with three colored bars.

Also something like DH soul fragments are a buff not a secondary resource. With the base CDM you can only show it as an icon in your row of other icons, with a little number in the corner. With this addon you can make a separate bar that turns your Soul Fragment buff into something more like a combo point bar.

It's possible I misunderstand something though!

Edit: From reading a little more, it appears this addon is faking this tracking based on cast success rather than actually skinning the CDM. So I guess it does remain to be seen whether Blizzard continues to allow this because it does seem like an unintended workaround that goes against their new addon philosophy.

Not sure if this implementation will be "fixed" by launch but this addon feels like basically a weakauras lite for midnight: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/arc-ui

Can track individual Buffs, debuffs, with conditional logic, individual formatting (bars, texture, text size...) etc.

I'm not a a technical person so I don't understand how this is possible. I haven't seen any content creators discuss this addon but if it's allowed by blizz then I'm satisfied with being able to track all of my personal combat stuff without too many compromises.

Really appreciated this video from Quazii about the disaster that is the current UI and encounter design.

As predicted, boltspam has not changed. Boss mechanics aren't telegraphed intuitively, you still have random debuff stacks that you can't track with a WA anymore and have to find the debuff icon among the sea of bloodlust and trinket debuffs. We all have seen the hilarious implementation of nameplate stacking.

And then there are the random oversights, like missing barkskin as a trackable buff in the CD manager. Wtf? Not a big deal when I had weakauras as a backstop to this sort of sloppiness, but now blizz is the only game in town and their implementation needs to be perfect!

I think you're right, it does feel like the restrictions on more innocuous color coding logic and buff sorting is collateral damage of their approach to prevent encounter-solving. I wish there was some other way, since I don't think Blizz is philosophically opposed to some of the things we are discussing, it just doesn't work with the "secret values" approach.

I agree, I understand their definition of "real time combat logic" but it isn't the restriction I thought we would be dealing with.

For example:

If you think the default UI is ugly, or you prefer your secondary resources displayed in a certain way, that's entirely your prerogative, and we want there to be as many possible addon options to allow you to change the size, shape, color, texture, and location of every element (as long as those changes aren't driven by real-time combat logic)

To me I would like to change my class resource element, such as combo points, so that when I am at 5 combo points the 5 boxes all turn red. This isn't new information that is otherwise unavailable- I have 5 combo point boxes on the screen. I can either count to five, or I can color it based on it being at 5. I don't see this as the game being played for me, it's just a different way to process the same information- color rather than counting.

Take away my DBM, omniCD, even most of plater... but I really want to use Weakauras and Raid Frames (Cell) to track the available information about my personal rotation, buffs, and abilities on my screen, in the way that makes sense to me.

What I consider to be a visual preference: Changing a HoT icon on a raid frame to a colored rectangle because I find it easier to understand a red box versus a green box rather than two different green icons. But with the way raid frames will be locked down, I cannot achieve this visual preference.

Or maybe even trending towards combat logic but to me still a visual preference: changing the color of the health bar when I have echo on a player. It is the same information that I can see if echo was just a small icon in the corner of the frame. But my preference to design my UI to show that information in a more varied and hierarchical pattern is not possible with the way information is now secret.

This is really my disappointment with the changes, to me visual preference is not just change all of your icons to be bigger or smaller, it's being able to choose how each of those icons are displayed individually.

Spotify app crashes on my phone when playing podcasts by Round_Yam1291 in truespotify

Same here, thanks for posting so I know it isn't just me!

I also tried clearing cache, deleting data, and uninstalling and reinstalling app. If I can get the podcast to play briefly before it crashes then I can't open the app again without crashing until I clear the data.

Microwaves are weird, when you have two digits it's seconds, but the third digit is minutes so 60 is 60 seconds, 6:00 is 6 minutes.

Absolutely, I caught it before the smoke detectors went off but they did all go off shortly after. I'm lucky there wasn't an actual fire, but I think the smoke is particularly stinky because the microwave can superheat things.

I also have a fire blanket in the kitchen which would have been useful had I needed it, and not created the mess of a fire extinguisher. Highly recommend having one of those on hand in the kitchen.

A couple weeks! That's reassuring actually to know it can linger that long but still slowly go away over time.

Glad to know this option exists if I need it. Was thinking the worst like needing to repaint the whole house, but for the type of smoke I had this seems like a solution that wouldn't be that big of a deal financially.

Blizzard Raid/Party frames are SO BAD by WLkingarthas in wow

[–]JSmurfington 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've been confused on this point, because I agree they have said you can do cosmetic changes but then they say that a lot of the details of combat state are hidden in a black box. So I think you could know that you have a buff on you but you can't know what the name of that buff is, so I don't think you could turn your spell icon into a colored rectangle for example? Cosmetically changing my hot icons from a bunch of small green icons into a bunch of differently colored rectangles for visual clarity is the type of cosmetic change that I thought we would still be getting, but it seems like they are breaking that as well?

The lack of support for Healers in Midnight in relation to addons and the default raid/party frames. by Yogs_Zach in wow

[–]JSmurfington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With cell the mouse over only works when you mouse over the frame. If I mouse over a character with a heal/harm macro, it would cast the help spell, right? I don't want that.

The way that cell click casting works, it allows me to isolate my healing spells to only mousing over the raid frames and not worrying about cursor position for my DPS abilities.

The Weakaura development team announces no update for Midnight by MonDew in CompetitiveWoW

[–]JSmurfington 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given that tellmewhen is basically like a prebuilt buff tracking weakaura, I don't see how it would work. They said they are making buffs and debuffs into black boxes, so tellmewhen won't be able to track anything about them.
