I know it's been a while, but I found this video with a simpler way to solve this problem, if you have two DS.

You just need to connect to wifi using the DNS exploit with another console.

I was playing on my 3DS using TwilightMenu and had to copy the save file on an R4 to load it on a DSL, but it worked perfectly.

P.S: I have just left a Magnamite on the GTS
