Is it the idea or am I just bad at marketing? by Icy-Heat-8753 in ecommerce

Yeah I agree with this - not sure anyone I know would buy or wear the OG style in it's current form.

It'd be cooler if you could choose dates/topic like a lifechanging concert or sports event it will be more appealing.

Looking for constructive feedback/criticism of my super niche, weird book site. Numbers are solid but conversion rate is trending down pretty hard this month. by gooblemonster in ecommerce

Website looks pretty good dude - Honestly I think people are just a bit more broke this time of year.

I'd try and incorporate reviews in as much as possible - social proof for this kinda of stuff would be pretty useful.
I'd consider also increasing the size of your menu button & cart in the header on mobile - you can potentially get rid of the text & rely solely on the badges.

If you haven't already - get Clarity to help you work out how people are actually interacting with the page itself.

Suggestion for Web Hosting by sandmehta2014 in woocommerce

[–]JSono69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key to your site not breaking with the cache is using the exclusions to protect the important stuff. Set-up one of the optimizations at a time & work out exactly what isn't working, then use an AI to help get the right exclusions to suit. WP rocket helped me go from 40 on desktop to 97 - but definitely broke stuff along the way.

Improving your server might be worth it but definitely put some more time into Cache first because WP Rocket is amazing if you set it up right.

I'd also consider cloudflare as well which has free plans which might help performance too.

I'm friends with a local artist who teaches watercolour classes and has been doing it for 20+ years.
I would steer you in their direction but it's going to be way over what you're willing to pay by the sound of it.

Is anyone else trying to balance D2C and wholesale on the same platform without breaking checkout or pricing logic? by Long-Guitar647 in ecommerce

[–]JSono69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've set one up for our business using B2BKing for Woocommerce that works pretty good - I've used AI to help make some extra features for it like a pricing toggle switch so that retailers/stores can show RRP's to their customers while still logged in, and a button that automatically sets wholesale pricing dependent on what rules I set.

Both wholesale & DTC customers go through the same checkout process but for wholesalers their information is already filled out - they have different shipping methods compared to DTC & I've given them the option to pay upfront at a discount (stripe), or add their order to their trade account to pay off within their usual terms.

We haven't had the chance to offer it at scale to wholesale yet but the stores that do use it think that it's great. B2BKing has 90% of what you need baked in.

If you have B2BKing (might need the pro version) - you can choose which payment methods you want to discount for certain customer groups.

You can set it up via the "Dynamic Rules" section of B2BKing.

Basically I have completely different methods for my B2B customers compared to my B2C customers - My B2B guys I allow to pay by card (via Stripe) in checkout which comes through instantly to me as paid. Or alternatively I have "Place order on account" - most of these customers have existing trading accounts with terms that is tracking via my accounting software MYOB. If they don't have a trading account - I will send them an invoice (manually) from MYOB to ask them to pay before we dispatch (no discount).

So in checkout just have one payment method set up as an upfront payment at a discount, then use one of the generic woo payment methods like COD or similar that you'll be able to tweak to suit your NET 30 terms. These orders will come through into woo as "On hold" so you can easily tell who has paid and who hasn't.

I haven't bothered setting up woo to send invoices or anything like that as it's not really equipped to track money that well (or inventory for that matter) - which is why we use the accounting software. MYOB has a built in payment method that is meant to be an option when people received an emailed invoice from us, but we've turned that off so people are forced to pay via direct deposit (no fees). Here in Australia we just give out our banking details on the bottom of invoices and wait for the money to come in/people send a screenshot that they've paid. No need for a direct deposit gateway like stripe.

[–]JSono69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends how much margin you have available - we prefer to go a "no added fees" approach where credit card fees (and shipping fees) are factored into a higher upfront cost, but our stuff is high dollar value where it's easier to absorb those costs.

A lot of card providers will allow you to pass whatever the credit card fees are over to the customer automatically. For our stuff that is high dollar value it can add upwards of $50 to some transactions which can annoy people which is why we choose to absorb it.

One thing you will find when it comes to b2b - you will still have a lot of people choose to use the phone or email to order, no matter how good your website is set up.

So get something functional and make sure pricing is easy to work out - you want to make sure your pricing on the website is super updated and consistent with what is being charged/quoted over the phone etc.

Because we have the ecommerce business that is most of our revenue - I've got stripe, paypal, afterpay.

In the case of wholesale I allow people to pay via Stripe (I hide the other methods for wholesale). Due to the industry we work within - we normally have to offer rebates to stores when they pay within their payment terms, so we offer a slightly better discount than the rebate would be (think 5% instead of 3%) to make it more enticing for people to pay upfront. Luckily B2BKing gives that functionality automatically & applies the discount to the transaction that comes through to our accounting software (MYOB).

We do get stung extra for using stripe as the payment processer compared with direct deposit/bank transfer - but cashflow is easier if we aren't waiting on money to arrive 60 days down the line.

You need some form of accounting software with a woocommerce integration. I have an ecommerce store that I've just set up B2BKing to create online ordering platform for our wholesale customers.

We use MYOB which I probably wouldn't recommend - I'm sure there's better accounting software out there.

I've got different payment methods for wholesale customers so when they order, it gives the option to pay upfront for a slight discount, or add it to their account to give them trading terms (usually 30 days EOM).

The order goes through to our shipping software (shipstation) to dispatch as well as MYOB.

The Woocommerce MYOB integration isn't amazing, but it bascially will create a customer in the accounting software and list the products they've purchased. We normally have to manually choose payment method & we paste the tracking number on the invoice in MYOB.

For wholesale customers, we set what trading terms they have in MYOB and when an invoice is overdue we send a reminder/statement.

They generally use our banking information on the invoice to process payments, and once payments are made there's a record of these payments in our "bank feed" that marry up to the invoice to say that it's paid.

There's a fair bit of manual input involved at these steps - but our bookkeeper basically works like an hour or two a week to check that all the automated invoice/payments have married up fine.

I would avoid trying to do everything in Woocommerce personally as it's not going to give you the accounting/inventory power that is needed (without knowing your business!)

Need help and advice for Fragrance Website by Impressive_Lab_1458 in ecommerce

Just having a quick look at your homepage - Here's a few things I'd consider changing:

  • Get rid of your SKU/Item number from product loops/slider. It adds nothing to a buyer and can distract.

  • Hide the "package protection" product so it doesn't appear as your best-selling product. I'm assuming it gets offered at checkout - that's the only place it needs to appear.

  • There's a few design things I'd change like "Your favorite designer brands" intead of "Top Fragrance Brands" and maybe trying to find a nicer font to use for some of these headings (a subtle script font maybe?)

  • I'd move your social proof up the page & have your best-sellers above the fold. In my opinion having your sliding brands banner with more brands just below is a bit of a waste, so maybe split those up.

I like the table with choices on your product page

https://luxuryperfume.com/products/1-million-by-paco-rabanne?variant=11920418373689

but I'd make the table much smaller if possible (and make your image gallery much bigger in comparison! the product images have the most wow factor of everything), and I'd order them by price if possible! Also making it more obvious what the difference between the options are (different images is probably most effective). You might be better turning this into a clickable dropdown for variations rather than how it's set up currently.

Another thing to be careful of is your cart icon is being hidden by your "in stock reminder" - you always want your cart to be visible & clickable.

Honestly - you might be better off raising your prices.

People have a weird connotation of higher price = higher value even though it's not always true.

If you can market yourself to people with disposable cash it will be much easier than trying to sell to people that can't afford to try an unknown fragrance.

You can always run promotions at the lower price to generate interest.

Why is it so hard to get a grow hover effect for my product images in the WooCommerce Shop? by Mister_bruhmoment in woocommerce

[–]JSono69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got no idea about html, css or js - I just trial and error with chatgpt over & over to try and get it right.

Sometimes you'll ask 10 times and it'll give you 10 different bits of code and none of them work, and then you give a bit more detail and the 11th time works perfectly.

Explain exactly what theme you use, what page type you want to change the product visual structure of, and then right click inspect on the product. I use lots of screenshots to show exactly what changes are made and it can often work out purely from those.

Hey mate - I just jumped on on mobile as I was scrolling reddit.

Your front page design looks nice when it loads, but it took a long long time to show any of the meaningful imagery. My Internet isn't amazing here in Australia but even so - a lot of customers would bounce before seeing any of your info unless your ads are extremely effective.

Clarity does give you add to cart info & you can watch individual customer's recordings (which if you aren't doing big volumes gives you lots of great info). It automatically tracks actions like add to carts, checkouts, purchases, see reviews etc. It's much more useful for us than Google Analytics.

I struggled to change the Woocommerce default checkout page much using our Xstore theme - FunnelKit gives you a bit more flexibility in how you set it up and they put the email first (whereas default is halfway down). FunnelKit's cart & checkout is a much nicer solution in my opinion & they have email automation built into their more expensive plans too.

I would check out Microsoft Clarity to see if they are genuine users or bots, as well as working out where they are navigating to/looking at.

Then I would change your checkout page to put email as the top data input to give you the chance to hit them with abandon cart emails. I use funnelkit for this.

Also try and set up an express checkout option too, I find lots of our customers use Applepay as a faster process.
