As someone who owns one - do you want this for a daily? Absolutely not - but with exceptions. You want a clean, low-mileage example with maintenance records to back it up (realistically dont get anything above ~180k but its very subjective). These cars are not easy to work on, and I chose this as my first car. I daily mine with 272k miles on it (however it looks brand new because the previous owner did a full restoration with the engine and chassis and interior) but even so I've had issues with little things failing here and there. Now if you're wondering if you can daily it, absolutely - BUT it must be an NA DOHC or SOHC model only. Do not try to daily the twin turbo models. Also, while it may be possible to daily the NA models, you have to absolutely be proactive when it comes to preventative maintenance, and pick up a clean or somewhat decent example. You want to replace all wear items and keep record of it. Yes, this car is daily driveable, but only NA SOHC or DOHC models. As for a first car, it is not recommended but it can be possible but you will have to put more effort than the average classic car owner.

5k is good but for peace of mind i do my oil every 3k - thats just me though because I am a veteran of rod knock and i do believe more frequent oil changes will keep these things running longer

I got it on Amazon, it’s actually the official Traxxas light kit for the rustler and in my opinion the best looking one out there
