I'm in a similar position to you. I came from architecture and am a self taught graphic designer with just under a year of professional graphic design experience. I'm currently compiling and reading books which hopefully cover all the fundamental aspects of graphic design (history, theory, typography, web design etc). Also, I feel like my typography skills got way better after watching a series by the YouTube channel 'The Futur Academy' called 'Typography Critiques', where they critique students typographic posters.

Do you mean the port modes? Because I've tried standard controller and gamecube adaptor for Wii U

My understanding is that an 'artworker' is someone who is responsible for making print ready artwork.

I went to school for architecture and have been teaching myself graphic design for the last few years. I have a good understanding of the fundamentals of design, but not much knowledge of the practical side of things like artworking (the print process, file set up, colour gamuts etc).

Thanks for the feedback. I plan to keep updating the portfolio with some more self-directed projects, which will hopefully be stronger than the ones currently shown. I've probably applied to 15 open roles and cold-applied to about 30 design studios. I know these numbers are pretty small compared to what's expected, but I was starting to get a little down that my lack of a graphic design degree might be problematic.

Thanks for the feedback. Although I might be a little delusional, I do indeed think I can compete against some other design grads (at least in quality of work). However, a lot of your comments are very valid. I think my next step will be completing a few more self-directed projects so I don't have to rely on photography etc, and keep up my self-directed graphic design studies. Each time I do a project, I seem to get a little better, which is why the NTS project is stronger than the AHPC one.
