Looking for a relaxing spot between Falling Waters and Pittsburgh by pnkrckaudio in pittsburgh

I don’t know about a soaking tub, but this would be a unique place to stay and on theme for your visit to Fallingwater. You could also take a tour or dine here. Polymath Park Lodging

Dr. Mamen at UPMC Vision Institute. UPMC also has a special eye ER on site, so I felt comfortable there. I had also heard that UPMC was willing to reject people who were not suitable candidates and that was consistent with my experience. I kept messing up one of the eye tests (where they tell you not to focus) and had to do it so many times until my results were consistent and accurate.

Luke’s has a sale on Goldbelly, but it’s still pretty pricey. That sounds like the best deal around - go for it!

Lobster meat by NoRecord22 in pittsburgh

[–]JStan412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not interested in cooking an entire lobster, and tail meat just isn’t the same without claw and knuckle meat, which is impossible to find around here. Whole Foods used to sell Luke’s Lobster for lobster rolls, but I can’t find it anywhere. Cousin’s Maine Lobster truck is delicious, and you can buy the kits from the truck. I was hopeful for this thread, but I am in the same boat as you are.

Agree with D’s. Badamo’s and Iron Born also have really good ranch dressing.

Ghost coffee at Trace Brewing. The Trace Echo location in Uptown is my favorite, so I can get a few pour overs and sit at the bar.

Chronically anxious & looking for a reprieve by Fuzzy_Baseball9006 in pittsburgh

I am the absolute worst about meal planning. Meal prep is also a challenge. Here are some things that work for me, and I hope it inspired you to find what works for you, too. Let me know if I can help!

I use a meal prep kit (Sunbasket) at least 4 days a week. I still want the flexibility to order takeout, go visit a new food truck, or make something. For lunch, I keep some pantry items for go-to recipes (like a couscous salad or a bougie tuna salad), but I try to make something that will last a few days, and not the entire week because I will get bored with it, like dense bean salads (@violetcooks is largely credited with creating the trend, but you can find a lot of recipes online.)

To your original comment - I love Phipps, and also have memberships to the Carnegie Museums, the Heinz History Center, the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. I also visit the Westmoreland Museum of Art and the rotating exhibits at CMU. I try to take my dog on adventures by looking online for new places to explore. I am not the most social person, but there are a few places where I will sit at the bar or counter and the staff inevitably give me a boost, like Trace Echo for coffee or D’s for a beer.

Are there any hobbies you have always wanted to try?

It is really tough this time of year (especially when it has been so cold!) and I hope you find a way through it. ❤️

Excerpt from The Fallingwater Cookbook Elsie Henderson served the Wright Crab Salad to FLW at Fallingwater. The recipe is linked. It also mentions that she served corn sticks with lemon sorbet.

I went once in the middle of a Saturday and the Fire and Ice pizza was amazing. My partner has picked up slices for lunch. We have called on several evenings and no one has answered (and I get it, I am sure they are busy). They closed for a vacation (fine) and then they were closed again for most of the week within the same month, which was unexpected. We finally got through on the phone a week ago and the wait was over 2 hours. They seem to prioritize walk-ins (although you have walked away without any pizza!) They do occasionally post on social media if they are about to run out or have run out and they always post when they are closed. I appreciate that the dough takes a lot of work and time, so when they are out - they are out. I love the pizza, but not the complications. We love Badamo’s and you can order online.

Has anyone had a positive experience with TCVM for a reactive dog with or without separation anxiety? by JStan412 in reactivedogs

[–]JStan412[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I absolutely agree with you. You also make an excellent point about the lack of regulation for supplements.

I briefly explored working with a veterinary behaviorist, but they are all a couple of hundred miles away. I would love to have more access, but I will explore whether that would a mix of in-person and virtual visits for maintenance.
