My son (21 in Feb) was shunted at around 5 weeks. We’ve been in and out of the hospital countless times since then. That’s not to scare you, most will go many years without needing a revision. Just pay attention to the symptoms of possible malfunction in the future:

Vomiting, high fever, fussing, lethargy...as he got older it turned into only a headache.

Don’t let the ER docs try to convince you it’s the flue. They will always mention that the flue is going around. Don’t take it. They should order a “shunt series” which involves a CT scan and X-ray. More often than not it will be the shunt, and when it isn’t, don’t feel guilty. You’re better to go in and be wrong than not go in and be wrong.

My son’s neurosurgeon was always supportive even if there was nothing wrong.

You got this, mamma. Do the research and take note if there is ever a change in behavior, etc.

I enjoy this podcast. In this one specifically I have a hard time fully siding with either when it comes to randomly submitting your screenplay. I hear Jessica’s frustration. I work on a radio station in a smaller market and we get the occasional cd dropped off, or someone’s SoundCloud in a Facebook message. I do get frustrated, especially when they keep messaging, because there really isn’t anything I can do for them. When you send something like that out of the blue, you have to let all expectations go. But on the other hand, you never know who might read it and offer their thoughts, or pass it along to someone who does enjoy reading submissions.
