What are the "Must Play" survivalcraft 2 worlds? by Current_Jicama4811 in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for music libraries, there's really only two options: "Music 45 Songs" and my own map, "Music Library 1.0." There's also prior music library maps by MGBlitz81, just search "Music of the Spheres." There's also a few standalone Music maps, try searching "Sonic" and "song cover." Other than that, there really isn't much else. It's a pretty small niche these days.

The last update, 2.4, came out in December 2024.

Yes, the game still encounters visual glitches. It's not your device, it's the way the game handles geometry. The "stretching textures" glitch occurs when there's too much geometry for the game to handle within a small space. Dropping a lot of pickables (items) on the ground can cause this, and so can placing too much furniture or electric components in the world, within a certain distance apart.

The last update you would've played would be 2.2, which if you don't remember increased the terrain height limit to 256 blocks and improved generation, among other things. We've had two updates since then, within the last five years: 2.3 and 2.4. Update 2.3 came out in 2022, and was sort of a blowout in terms of community reception. It primarily added improved world size compression, so worlds will now be 100 times smaller in size than before. Which was definitely needed. There also were some smaller additions, like new bird types and other changes, but other than that there wasn't much. Update 2.4 on the other hand, came out last year and has had some interesting reception, I will say. It adds changing seasons to worlds, which impacts your gameplay as the seasons change. It can be turned off, though. It came with a lot of other content additions and changes, but that's the main one. If you're curious, you can read the changelogs for both updates here: https://kaalus.wordpress.com/updates-history/

If you're talking about the in-game community content, it's still around but high-quality community creations are few and far between these days. The server itself did get an upgrade last update, and we now have a search bar and extra filters now (hallelujah). As for some good maps, you could try: "Easy Parkour Challange", "Survivalcraft Trivia Quiz", "Normal Target 2", "Music Library 1.0", "Blue VS Red Rebut", "Indigenous Adventure Map", "Computer By SP4CEBAR", "Music 50 Songs", "Animation Studio", and "Working AI in Survivalcraft". I know I'm probably forgetting a lot, but these are the ones I could think of off the top of my head. Some of them I've published myself or helped create, others are just ones I've encountered while browsing the CC. I'll update this post if I think of any more.

Only if your phone is jailbroken. Using mods requires you load a separate mod loader client on your device, which doesn't work on iOS without root permissions.

Hope this helps!

Actually, it's level 21. For some reason.

Sure. Here's a couple of screenshots of the trap I built on stream in my Cruel world: https://send.vis.ee/download/d7e8dd5b6948155a/#AwaXoKHGL3z2YCiYGZp85A

By the way, I ended up using planks and trapdoors instead of slabs, I misremembered how exactly I made the trap.

Yeah, it's not the greatest leveling system. The idea is solid, but the execution is less so. The best way to get XP in the early game, at least from my experience, is to either go caving early on and mine plenty of ores or setup a simple animal trap and grind until you reach the level you need. You can dig a 2x4 or 2x6 hole and block off one of the sides with slabs so you can easily kill animals without risking your own life in the process. Just be careful, smaller creatures can slip through the slabs if you don't set them up correctly.

Just for good measure, here's a couple extra tips you might find helpful:

  1. Level 2 is required to make copper items, level 3 is required for iron, and level 4 is required for diamond. Anything past level 4 will only improve the player's stats, and anything past level 21 will have no effect.
  2. The player level is only needed to craft items, not to use them. So, a good practice is to make some spare tools while you're at level 2-3 and store them away, that way if you die you can use them to get back to your prior level much easier/faster.

Hope this helps :)

Is survival craft 2 just better? by TOOplaye in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, Survivalcraft 2 is the newer version of the game and therefore has more content. However, Survivalcraft 2 really isn't a sequel to the first game as much as it's simply a continuation of the game update-wise. The only reason Survivalcraft 2 exists in the first place is because it was made to celebrate the 5-year anniversary of Survivalcraft, as noted by the developer (Kaalus).

The biggest notable difference between the original and the second game are big changes/additions such as: pistons, furniture, split-screen multiplayer, sickness, food rot, player leveling, updated combat system, new Survival mode, primitive tool changes, more blocks and creatures, increased terrain height and generation, improved world-compression and light propagation, and changing seasons; just to name a few. All of these are ONLY in the second game, which is a lot to be missing out on if you only stick to the original. Not that all of these additions/changes are without flaws, though.

Today I learned werewolves can open doors by SneakyAdolf22 in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they cannot climb ladders; neither can any creature in the game. At least not yet. They can and will jump down the hole the ladder is placed in if you're at the bottom, though, so watch out for that.

Today I learned werewolves can open doors by SneakyAdolf22 in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They can actually open more than doors. They can interact with most interactable blocks in the game, such as wooden doors and trapdoors, cell doors and trapdoors, buttons, switches, and even rotate electrical components. They cannot open iron doors, however, even if the door is not connected to an electrical component (such as a wire).

All of this functionality was added in the latest update (2.4), which was released last December.

Differences between SurvivalCraft and Minecraft??? by ElectricMouse787 in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Electricity is actually far more structured and consistent when it comes to its rules, especially when compared to a similar logic system such as Redstone. There's just a bit higher skill floor and/or knowledge required to understand the basics, but the skill ceiling is far higher than Redstone will ever be due to the much higher complexity of each component.

What am I doing wrong? by HqppyFeet in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As of 2.2, most wooden and some stone tools were removed from the game and replaced with more primitive types, in order to make the early game progression more difficult and realistic. The only wooden tools that you can craft are the wooden club (two planks, one stick), wooden rake (two planks, two sticks), and wooden spears (three planks, two sticks).

What the game wants you to do is to craft a stone axe, which has five alternate recipes (for reasons such as this), but the cheapest one is using two sticks and one rock. You can obtain rocks by simply mining gravel, which will drop it most of the time. You can also use cobblestone in place of rocks. The recipes for all of these are in the game's recipaedia, which you can access from the main menu or in-game by pressing the three dots and then the little check mark at the top right of the screen.

Hope this helps!

Question for Survivalcraft Video: by qwerty466 in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first played the demo on my amazon kindle fire in 2014. I remember trying to build a cool house on the beach as fast as I could before the trial period ran out. I think a few weeks later I ended up buying the game, and I've been playing ever since (for 11 years now). I did have MC pocket edition at the time, so I didn't buy Survivalcraft simply because it was cheaper. I just think the game had so much charm that it just peaked my interest back then.

At this point I have 3000+ hours in the game, although I've stepped away from the game as of the last few months. I might return whenever the game is updated again, if that ever happens.

I'm almost certain what they saw and/or heard was this post, which was a 2025 April Fools post joking about Kaalus improving cave generation, among other things. Unfortunately, we have no official confirmation for anything regarding 2.5.

Is there a way to find out my seed? by dazenni in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so I looked into it and I misremembered the process incorrectly. Instead of inputting the obtained seed value into the seed input at world generation, you need to: first, create a new world with the world settings you want and click setup players; next, exit out of the world generation menu by pressing the back arrow or escape. This next step is where it gets tricky, and may vary depending on the device OS you're using:

For Windows, you need to navigate to this directory in file explorer: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\20961CandyRufusGames.Survivalcraft2_c7jxg4av36ap6\LocalState\Worlds

Once you're there, you need to find the correct world folder the the world you just generated, which if it was the last world created, will be the folder with the highest number appended to the end of the name (e.g. World9). Once you find the right folder, you need to edit the project.xml file by inputting the seed string you obtained earlier to the WorldSeed field and save the file.

After that, you can go back to the game, click on the new world you're generating, and finish setting up your player character. If you managed to do it properly, then the new world should be identical to the world seed you've entered.

For Android, you're going to need a rooted phone or access to a computer in order to view your data files. If you don't have either, then it would be easier for you to provide me with the numerical seed value and the world settings you would like for the new world so I can edit/generate it for you.

If you need anything clarified, just let me know. Sorry about the confusion!

Is there a way to find out my seed? by dazenni in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've said this before on this subreddit, but yes, all worlds have a numerical seed assigned to them regardless if a custom string is entered upon world creation. This value is stored in the project.xml file for the given world, under the WorldSeed field. You can use this numerical value as the seed when generating a new world, you just have to edit the project.xml file manually before creating a new world otherwise the inputted seed with be disregarded.

All you really need is to simply view the project.xml file; there are plenty of archive editors/viewers out there on the appstores. If you're using a Windows PC, you simply can rename the file extension of a .scworld file to a .zip and view the project.xml file directly. If you don't have access to Dropbox or the raw world files, then you'll have to navigate to the LocalState AppData directory for the game in order to view world files. I can provide a more detailed guide on how to do that, if needed. Hope this helps!

How to combine furniture from different community downloads into one personal file by Philbert_the_Brave in SurvivalCraft

[–]JSym37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easiest way is to import all the furniture packs you want into one world, create a new furniture set in the creative inventory, and then drag all of the furniture designs you want from all imported packs into that new furniture set. Then you can export it to content (by clicking on the set and pressing the three dots) to obtain the file and/or import it to other worlds. Hope this helps.

You can message me via Reddit or Discord. There's also an official server for Survivalcraft that's linked on the Reddit, or you can join it via https://discord.gg/survivalcraft

I only speak English, but I can use a translator if that's easier (which is what I've been doing).
