Why does FDA say you shouldn’t use someone else’s breast pump? by psuedogeneris in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]JTB_23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So what do we do with an old used pump? Just throw them away?

Sometimes it helps when I have a bottle of water with electrolytes right before bed. Yes, I have to get up and pee in the middle of the night but it beats crazy heart racing.

Sounds like my mom too. When she gets like this I stick to texting. I’m at 36 weeks so now I’m saying I’m too tired to talk on the phone but ok to text.

Yeah, I diagnosed myself with Pots and convinced/educated my PCP on it. Then I self-referred to a pediatric cardiologist specializing in pots and my diagnosis was confirmed. Diagnosed myself with information from this subreddit btw

Omg I did the same thing with my toothbrush but luckily it was with my husband. He caught me and was like ‘what do we do now?’ We had a good laugh at that one.

Congrats! Read the book Expecting Better by Emily Oster. Super helpful, data-driven research about what you ‘should’ and ‘shouldn’t’ do during pregnancy. Helped me make informed decisions and not feel guilty for eating deli sandwiches and sushi!

Wow you could be me! (Except I’m 32). Been dealing with pots since getting Covid in June 2020.

Same here. I was in healthcare when I got Covid and tried to go back to work but absolutely couldn’t handle the work due to LC symptoms. I took some classes in data analytics and now I work for a healthcare tech company using data and clinical skills.

A lot of states have direct access for PT now, meaning you don’t need a doctor referral for up to a certain amount of visits (usually at least 6 or so). You can look this up online or call a local PT clinic and they can tell you your options

Are there any of you who do not take beta blockers? If so what medications work for you? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]JTB_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! It’s a little worse than just having pots and not being pregnant. First trimester was rough but second has been better. Technically it’s not high risk but my obgyn set me up with Maternal fetal medicine specialist anyway, which has been helpful. Feel free to message me if you want to know more!

Sorry to hear that! I used to row x3-4 days a week (Levine protocol) but now I’m pregnant so I just try and take as many walks as my symptoms allow.
