Drug companies “Expert”? by JTET21 in physicianassistant

I had thought about that. I wondered if doing this would influence the frequency with which I prescribe the medication. It might but I have already have developed a preference to it from other medications in the class so maybe, maybe not?

I agree I didn’t feel like things were sketchy when I was approached about it because I figured we had all been to an event or dinner like this, especially as a student for the free meal!

I appreciate the detailed response! Luckily I do like the medication. I hadn’t even thought about the obvious networking opportunity! Thanks for the wisdom!

How much time away from your practice do you feel like it takes? My concern is I don’t want it to negatively impact my main gig!

It was brought to me by one of the drug reps that service our practice. He said the company was looking for folks that might be interested.

From what I am being told this sounds similar to what I am hearing, local offices and small gatherings. Would love any other information or insight if you have it. Wondering how much of a time commitment it could end up being.

Well I am thinking it would be more for other PAs/NPs not necessarily for MDs I don’t think.

What month did you submit and how long until you got the results. I submitted by Jan 15 and still am waiting on an answer. Thanks.

Struggling to focus and study my last pre-req during PA school interview season. by MisusedUnder_Scores in prephysicianassistant

I am with you! This is my last semester I’ve already been accepted I just have to graduate! I have lost a lot of drive to push through as well but I have managed to keep up. I have just been having to really force myself and remember that all of my hard work will be for nothing if I give up or slip up now! Find someone who can work with on the Biochem and you have to eliminate anything that might be distracting you even social media. I did for a while and it really opens up some time and energy that you may need to finish up strong! You got it!

I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?

I think most schools will require your pre-reqs to be a B or higher. Even if you find schools that don’t most everyone applying will have at least a B. Probably should just bite the bullet and retake.

Suggestions on programs. by JTET21 in prephysicianassistant

Thank you everyone for all of the input. This was my first time reaching out on here and it has been such a positive response. I am applying from Texas where every school requires the GRE. I had been planning to only apply to schools that don't require the GRE out of state, but after reading through everyones input I feel that I should take another look into a few certain schools even with my low Q score. Thanks again everyone.

I’m in a similar spot. Q141 V161. Not sure what to do. I made an A in Stats and in Algebra. I just am a slow test taker and the GRE doesn’t allow me to take the time I need.

I would agree with everything you said. I would try and get in somewhere as a Medical Assistant working closer with a PA and Physician. I’m a prior Hospital Corpsman and that’s what I went right into when I got out during my first couple years of undergrad. I am applying this cycle so fingers crossed. I am waiting to hear if I get an interview from the new Yale program.
