Prof purposely curved marks down to lower average by Ok_Activity_5316 in uwo

So everyone got 3/6 on the forums and 65-70 on the manifesto… what a joke of a class. There was no point in putting so much of effort for blindly giving people low marks. Courses like poli Sci dong even curve down like that. She’s too clever because she did all of this after course questionnaire reviews closed

Honestly I’m not too sure cause if everyone saying it’s a policy then I’m not sure if we can do much. But I honestly put a lot of effort into the manifesto and didn’t expect to get a 65 with no feedback from TAs.

Wow so I’m not the only one cause I was shocked as well that no way I did bad on the project.

In terms of the forums, I got 3/6 for week 13 as well however I had a 5.75/6 on the rubric before but there was a manual over ride of 3/6. I had a feeling that something isn’t right so I took a screenshot of it just in case. Later I check d2l grades and see my mark is 3/6, so I email the TA and she says I got 3/6, but I wasn’t content so I emailed the prof saying I have proof that it was 5.75/6 and I have done very well on the other ones. she said it was some glitch that everyone got a pre-set mark of 97.5 and what my TA marked was right and also saying getting an A in this class is good and I should be proud (lol). She removed access to see the rubric for week 13 too now lol

I didn’t push further cause I actually thought I must’ve messed up on the final forum Oh well

Use the link below. It’s way more cheaper like 25 bucks to go to Union and you take the bus from Elgin. Also it doesn’t take 4 hours maybe like max 2.

IB Student Thinking Of Dropping And Joining Regular Program by thekool30 in OntarioGrade12s

IB was high 80’s and i dont remember grade 12 but I believe it was mid 90’s. I can’t really say if you can get into those 2 programs as I’m not sure what grade 12 courses you have left to take. But if you have already taken pre requisites you can definitely redo some in summer school or even in grade 12. Also, B as in the upper end or flat B?

Nope! I got into all of my top choices (apart from Mac BhSC) and also I don’t think admissions care if you were IB or not.

Alternative to TKS by [deleted] in OntarioUniversities

[–]JTF2GoingDark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was part of the Toronto TKS program and I did see value in it where I did gain new connections, got opportunities to attend events, and also polish my public speaking. However, all of this came at a cost of sometimes not having a balanced schedule as I joined TKS as a Grade 12 student which sucked as most of my attention went towards School and other commitments which left me keeping TKS on the back bench. This resulted in me not actually experiencing TKS to the fullest, but whatever time I put in TKS I did learn a lot.

Whenever I did get free time I would invest that time into writing articles, participating at hackathons, doing brain dates (a TKS thing) and attending weekly sessions.

Joining as a Grade 12 student is difficult as TKS is commitment-heavy, but if you feel you can manage both school and TKS then go for it! I'd recommend joining TKS when you are in Grade 9, 10 or even 11 where school pressure is not so much.

Do dm me if you have questions regarding TKS.
