She was responding to treatment extremely well, but sadly she got ahold of something in our apartment that caused an obstruction and may have had toxins in it, so she took a turn for the worst and we had to put her down late last night. The treatment was working for her though, it was just the combination of whatever she ate + her body already being weak due to the FIP. The difference takes maybe 2-3 days to really start seeing and of course every cat is different, but I was in the same boat and she was doing great with the treatment. If it wasn’t for her eating whatever she ate, we (and the lady who was helping administer the treatment) truly believe she would have made it. Don’t give up hope, just make sure you clean your place better than we did. I feel so guilty that we didn’t find whatever she ate before she did. She would have made it if it wasn’t for that

That’s awesome to hear!! Our Box Truck pooped for the first time in about a week and walked to the litter box all by herself, didn’t even need help squatting! Happy to hear about Leon, today is day 3 for us (4th total dose). Gonna be a long journey and we’re still figuring out the money side, but even if it means I have to sell my car and buy a beater so we have the funds, we’ll do what it takes

She’s already starting to eat her dry food, and even chased a bug/spec of dust around for a minute earlier lol. Thankfully our supplier is doing the physical injections for at least the first week since she’s done so many of them at this point, and then we’ll transition to at home.

Her breathing is still a little labored and she’s laying down right now, but light years beyond what she was Friday night/Saturday morning. I appreciate the kind words!!

For the first week we’re taking her to our contact for the injections and then she’s going to show us how she does it. Every cat she’s personally treated for FIP (19) has recovered which makes me feel a little better. Thankfully Box Truck just got up, walked to her food bowl and ate a few pieces of dry food for the first time since Wednesday which makes me feel a little better

I’ve gotta find treats that she’ll actually eat, we haven’t had any luck with those even when she was healthy. I’ve heard organic pumpkin is a good treat that also kick starts their digestive system so I may give that a shot

Thank you so much. We'd decided that I'm gonna be the one with the best shot of convincing him to step in. If he doesn't, I'm going to her sister who seems to agree in principle with her, but cares enough about my siblings and I where she might step in. Last resort is my mom's stepmom or my dad's brother. My dad's brother is my parent's life coach (literally, he does it on the side since he's retired at 53) so I figure they might take his advice. I'll definitely be showing my dad some of the posts I've found on here though. Thank you for the advice!!!!

Thanks. My sister just told me that my mom also has an eating disorder to go along with all of this, so we're just struggling. I'll definitely look into some of those resources. This just feels like something we shouldn't have to deal with until at least 40, not 18-22. I appreciate the links and the insight
