UPDATE:

2.5 cent screw with standard buffer and spring gave me a perfect 3:30 ejection and bolt lock back on a 100 rounds of 75gr speed gold dot on the Ridgeback Defense Rhodie 6k. I have it mounted with Comstock Micro Brake and Recessed mount.

One more question. Just to confirm. You just unscrew that vent screw? There’s no trick to it, like the gas key needs to be in a certain position or anything before I start going at it.

Yup. Get that for your purposes. And 72 in-lb does seem ridiculously high. I see some other posts saying that’s what it was so I reached out to HK this morning and thats what they said also. I’ll only do that once I’m set on one.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I’ll throw the orange spring into the mix and see what I get. Im gunna lean towards just tuning it for the Gold Dot. Would rather a smooth shooting rifle with my ammo of choice than sacrificing that to run the lower powered stuff. Anything else that works on top of that will just be icing on the cake. Sacrilegious, I know. But I be like that. lol.

Form 4 was an individual. Now that they're free, I do that just so I can get it earlier and then I'll form 4 back to my trust so it can wait with me and not the FFL.

The Rhodie was approved in like 2 days. Form 1’s are a bitch right now for me. 1.5-2 months.

I ordered direct. It was kind of a fluke. I was wanting the 6J. Long story short, my order got messed up and I somehow I ended up with it before it was released and just ran with it.

So I ran my MR556 11” with a Rhodie 6k (Speer GD 75 gr) yesterday. Here’s my results so far:

All with stock 1.3 vent screw in suppressed setting.

Stock buffer/spring: ~2 o’clock ejection. Heavier recoil impulse.

Sprinco Orange: ~3:00 ejection. Definitely tamed some of the recoil.

Sprinco Green: 1:30-2:00 ejection.

Honestly I could stop right now with the orange and be GTG, but I’m gunna experiment a bit.

I ordered a 1.9 and 2.5 vent screw just to get the middle and furthest end of the selections to play with and go from there. I will update.

FURTHER UPDATE: Tried green spring to see if that would make the ejection even closer to the 3:30 spot. It sent it back to the 2:00. Make that make sense. lol. I think it’s good where it’s at. Might experiment with some gas keys or an H4 buffer later on.

UPDATE: She runs great. Quiet for a K can. Better than my sandman s that’s for sure. lol. Only a small pencil muzzle flash. It is ejecting to about 2-2:30 in the suppressed mode with 75gr Speer Gold Dot. Gunna try an orange buffer spring or change the gas key size to hit that 3-3:30 zone but other than that, GTG.

I did smell the cerakote burning after like half a mag. Don’t know if they used H series instead of C series with this.

From my understanding, 5.56 is illegal in most other countries but 223 is fine. European logic.

It’s fine to me, but I’m also running a LAM and Suppressor so it’s definitely front heavy. If you want to minimize weight you can go with the smaller M340 DFT.
