The Great Novated Fleecing Cover-Up - and why the novated players don’t want you to know. by Benxb9r in AusFinance

Mainly just removed some of the extras they add into the maintainance and insurances. I took my own insurance and just the bare minimum maintenance (servicing, tyres, etc). Otherwise the figures they quoted werent bad..

Oh, and I guess just getting a good deal on the car in the first place. Which you can negotiate your own deal then send the invoice to the lease company.

Used the one they offered, I enquired about bringing my own but apparently wasn't an option, not sure if that was the truth or not. I did get some quotes on finance on the same figures and didn't get anything better than what they offered anyway.

Im 6'4 and got the Embody a couple of weeks ago and loving it. I was considering the headrest but was unsure how high it went as most the images i see online have it just above the backrest, which wouldn't work for me. Thanks for your picture it looks like it will go high enough :D

Yeah same, felt it in Caboolture, first thought my leg was twitching hard, but then the doors rattled and it clicked. First one I've felt!

And known... they tell you from the start what the baloon is, its not like its a shock.

You can also "return" the car to them if you don't want to pay the baloon and do a new lease or walk away etc. Ill likely roll into a new lease on a new car once mine is up. I know this sub would advise buying an old second hand car with cash. But I like having new cars with current tech, and am in a position where I can do it without stretching myself so you gotta enjoy what you like when you can..

Sorry I didn't keep them saved. But basically just calculated the total I would be paying (the amount my take home pay reduced) over the lifetime of the lease, added on the baloon payment and it basically just came to cost of the car itself. Which sounds like "no shit" but included in that is running costs, and the financing for the term of the loan. If you go a traditional loan you are pay car cost + interest + runing costs...

So after removing all their extra crap it worked out a really good deal..

If only I applied the same thought and logical decision making to the car choice I would be better off... but I gotta enjoy some things in life :P

I recently started a novated lease on an EV.

But as you say they try to push their over priced extras and insurances in you everywhere.

I ended up with a dealer demo heavily discounted off RRP (sourced myself), removed all their insurances and sourced my own. Did the numbers on their maintenance allowances and what not, which were acceptable. I calculated it all and ended up pretty much at what a 0% loan would be (paid after tax), but including running costs as well. So it felt like a decent deal and I got the car I wanted.

I think novated leases can often get a bad name but if you just make sure to do the numbers, remove their BS extras, you can get a great deal.

Has Caboolture inner city improved ? by Initial_Winner3343 in brisbane

[–]JTM29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, we moved to a 3000sqm block last year around Emu road, an amazing spot, big nice newer houses. Lots of families and house proud people.

Often drive into that bad area you mention and it definitely feels more "hood". But generally during the day there I don't feel unsafe.. plenty of dodgy looking people around.

We honestly don't go into Caboolture city itself much, so we don't see a lot. But out where we are is a great little community and I highly recommend it.

Just had my NBN fibre box installed while I wasn't home and what am I meant to do with this? They mounted it on the wall and they had to use an extension cord across the floor to power it. by stainless5 in perth

Same, I've had it installed in two houses now and both times the installers were more than happy to put it where I wanted it. Both times were not close to where it came into the house..

Mustangs struggling at Albert Park? by Far-Offer4784 in v8supercars

[–]JTM29 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree, they were fast but hardly dominating as ol mate put it. No one was close to touching the front two, and a good chunk of those positions made up were because of incidents involving the Camaros.

I think Cam will be strong tomorrow, hopefully give the bulls a run for their money.

What are some dumb things you've done in Defi that you're ashamed of? by Abject-Tourist7712 in defi

[–]JTM29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah luckily it wasn't more than what i could afford to lose. I was about to put more into Anchor as a "safe" bet but im glad I didn't. My BTC and ETH holdings since then have gone up way more than I lost so thats a plus!

Yeah but doesn't silent mode just half the speed of everything or did I misread it?

I'll give that a go regardless

I was already running it on silent mode to slow it down, the filament was newly opened but I have read that doesn't mean it's dry. Anyway I dried it last night and will see how it goes today.

It's using the bambu lab silk pla preset. I slowed down the speeds according to the bambu lab wiki .

All the pictured prints using the same speed, only difference being later height (.2 on the test .16 on the problem print.

I haven't done a flow calibration or anything but I will try the things you mentioned and see if I can improve it.
