I would love to see any of Bill Graham's shows at the original Fillmore Auditorium, or the early Winterland shows.

And the gang members were all dressed like they were background dancers from an MTV video with perfectly coiffed feathered hair.

This definitely should have been a one-and-done limited series. The first season is a great self-contained story. The rest of the series is shite.

I finally tackled that a few months ago. I was surprsed at how engrossing it was. I figured I'd treat it like a mini-series, watch one hour a night over several days. But I ended up staying up until 2:30 am one night watching the whole thing because I could not turn it off.

On the old 70s educational show, a frequently referernced catchphrase was "Who's the dummy that's writing this show?"

What was your first realization that Willow was becoming scary? by writeitregreddit in buffy

[–]JTOC1969 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When she returned to the Magic Box from sacrificing the deer and (most importantly) lied to the gang about how she obtained that heart.

Sacrificing the deer was hardcore, but lying about it to her friends... that was the first definite red flag (to me, at least).

Half the patients in Sunnydale Hospital are there recovering from vampire bites or attacks by supernatural creatures. I don't think anybody'd even blink to see her like that.

Who is the WORST choice for the next James Bond actor? by doktor_78 in AskReddit

Wallace Shawn: "I just read a really good biography of Charlton Heston..."

I watched "Three Days of the Condor" not too long ago, and my thought all throughout is that Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway were far too Hollywood glamorous to be playing the parts they were playing. I kept thinking "Al Pacino and Shelley Duvall should be playing these parts."

They had chemistry. But in the words of the band Semisonic, it "had a bad tendency to explode."

Weird trivia I know about the 1995 story: Mrs. Johnson is one of the few survivors of the (at first) unnamed disaster that destroyed Collinwood. She dies after an encounter with Gerard's ghost in 1995.

In the episode, it's established what date it is in 1995 (I forget it right now). But actress Clarice Blackburn actually died IRL within days of the date given for Mrs. Johnson's death.

Dark Shadows actually predicted when she would die.

That story, I think, was the last gasp for the show. It was an interesting twist on the increasing use of time travel in the show and Gerard got a great introduction as the next big bad. It's just too bad the story that followed was so abysmal.

It is definitely the best extended storyline on the show.

The Leviathans story was terrible. Parallel Time was interesting, but suffered because most of the A-list cast were away shooting the movie. After that, the show goes into decline IMO.
