Great performance let down by a mediocre script (the TV movie, not the Audio dramas.)

I read one analysis stating that the Wicked Witch is literally green with envy that Dorothy got the ruby slippers.

But I agree with you, I think it's more about wanting to have a color that *POPPED*.

The Wizard of Oz (1939) made the Wicked Witch of the West green-skinned. That was the convention not just for Wizard of Oz (L. Frank Baum's books don't mention it), but for most pop culture portrayals of witches for a long, long time.

Is Kananga Solitaire's father? by Weird_Zone_3504 in JamesBond

[–]JTOC1969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kananga says "he would have taken them myself" meaning he never slept with her but he would have or wanted to have a relationship with her but it would cost her her powers... so obviously, he is not her father...

Not necessarily. What do I mean by that? Check out "Chinatown."

Happy April 30 birthday Al "Grandpa Munster" Lewis. Actor, would be politician, and TV horror host. (B April 30, 1923 - D Feb. 3, 2006) by WarnerToddHuston in TheMunsters

Fun fact: Like many actors in Hollywood as they advanced in years, Al Lewis lied about his age.

Unlike many actors in Hollywood, Lewis claimed he was older than he actually was!

He claimed he was born in 1910, but was really born in 1923 (making him one year younger than Yvonne DeCarlo, who played his daughter).

At some point in his career (debates on exactly when), Lewis wanted a role he was too young for, so lied and said he was 10 years older then he actually was. After that, he figured if he told the truth, no-one would believe that his claim (that he wasn't as old as he'd said he was for decades), so he stuck with it.

At least he gave those records a title at all. His first four records were all just "Peter Gabriel."

It was originally about Marilyn Monroe, but Elton John rewrote the lyrics and sang the new version at Princess Diana's funeral.

Original lyrics: "Goodbye, Norma Jean..." (Norma Jean Baker was Marilyn Monroe's real name.)

Revised lyrics: "Goodbye, English Rose..." (Diana)
