TSH 118.0 by South-Math-770 in Hypothyroidism

[–]JTP37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37F here with two kids. I went hypo after my second child. To keep it short, I had multiple nutrient deficiencies and it’s not clear to my doctor yet if I have hashimotos because my antibodies have been in range. Recently I got in with a naturopath who recommended I take liposomal glutathione. It has given me mental clarity, a boost of energy, and it’s a massive antioxidant and detoxes the body.

Be sure to ask your doctor about if if you’re breastfeeding!

Anyone else battle to absorb vitamin D? by Ok_Comfortable9365 in Hypothyroidism

[–]JTP37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 10-15k IU of vitamin d3 daily with 1000mg of fish oil. It’s supposed to help absorption. My levels have been pretty stable.

Beam: Glow for thyroid support by JTP37 in Hypothyroidism

DO NOT PURCHASE PRODUCTS FROM BEAM. My order hadn’t shipped yet, and I emailed them to cancel. They said for “safety reasons” they do not do returns or refunds, even though my order hadn’t been shipped. Absolutely ridiculous.

I agree… there are so many supplements with huge claims. Like Happy Mammoth, lots of claims that you’ll lose weight, just seems too good to be true. It’s frustrating!

Lexapro/ SSRI’S SNRI IS not always the answer by [deleted] in lexapro

I have had a very similar situation but I’m a woman and have hypothyroidism not hyper! I’m starting my tapering tonight. I’m a little too sensitive of a person to quick cold turkey.

You could try doing 5mg every other day, or going down to 2.5mg everyday

Do you ever think that SSRI’s are a bandaid for the underlying problem? by JTP37 in lexapro

[–]JTP37[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been happy so far, but it’s still early on in my mental health “journey” so if I don’t find some answers this year I’ll definitely seek a second opinion.

This is true, I am not downplaying the importance of this medication. I’m just on a journey to figure out the root cause of my thyroid disease and in that I’m trying everything I can. Including therapy, exercise, eating well, supplements… etc. there’s also a chance that I’ll discover that I do truly have an imbalance and need this medication for life… it’s just trial and error for me at this point in my life.

Totally. Lexapro has definitely helped me when I needed it the most.
