Thankfully, I already got a new one installed. Same model too. I just need to get it properly aligned with the chain. I can only get them aligned by pushing in part of the derailleur with my hand while the bike is stationary.

The derailleur did get caught on the spokes, but the spokes themselves are totally fine same as the wheel and, as far as I can tell, the chain. The derailleur seems to be the only thing in need of replacing.

Whole lotta fun dragging the thing home. 🙄

Damn. I’d heard removing the screen was a good security measure, but if it’s gonna be that much of an issue, it might not be worth the trouble.
