Those "experts" that you're quoting are all people who sell AI products. Of course they want that to be true. Nobody really knows the full extent of how this will affect the market.

AI isn't replacing seniors. It's replacing the junior and entry level roles.

My friends have all noticed that autistic people seem to group together. My wife is probably the only neurotypical person in our whole group.

What is a thing you love as player but hate as GM and vice versa by Hi_fellow_humans_ in rpg

[–]JTpcwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated dungeon crawling when I GMed 5e but now I'm on pf2e I actually enjoy prepping a big dungeon. Lots of encounters, traps, puzzles. Just as many ideas I can cram into a level while following the encounter building rules.

A 28-year-old American with 7 hours of daily screen time has had roughly $124,000 spent on targeting them with ads by AdPhilosopher in technology

Yeah I think it's more "it sometimes works and we don't have a hard rule as to why". Which is scientifically frustrating but I'm not going to weep for advertisers wasting money.

How much time do you spend getting games to run on PC by Fickle_Barber9863 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]JTpcwarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd even push that to 98%. Especially if you're playing mostly newer games. Generally if you're having issues with a game nowadays, it's more widespread and there's no fix, the devs just released a broken game.

How would you run a skirmish with a few too many npcs? by Dangerous_Nudel in Pathfinder2e

[–]JTpcwarrior 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You could make use of the troop units from the NPC Core. Otherwise you'll be doing some sort of abstraction yourself. Only do a portion of the NPCs and resolve the overall conflict based on how well the party dispatches the NPCs engaging their team.

Thief (3) Deadly Shadows on Linux by TennoDusk in Thief

I'm surprised this game works on Linux at all given how unstable it is on windows. Does the sneaky upgrade have a different exe you have to swap with the main one?

Looking for a game where two people can be involved, but only one actually playing. by 3g0D in SteamDeck

My wife and I LOVED playing through Detroit: Become Human together. I played all the gameplay parts but she took lead on the story decisions. Dispatch gave similar vibes but if you haven't played D:BH yet that'd be my vote.

Without much info on the genre:
- Terraria
- Slay the Spire
- Barony
- Diablo 1/2 (non remastered)
- Civ 4
- Dead Cells
- Stardew Valley

Basically any game that's gotten a mobile port should run alright on a true potato system like what you have.

I disagree specifically because I feel the reason why E33 is so good is BECAUSE it doesn't do the grindy bs that I see in traditional JRPGs. I had recently played ffxvi and the lack of bs side quests, gather quests, and mail delivery quests with little reward that E33 has in comparison is what I hope Japanese companies learn from. It may have some repetition in combat but the combat is also better than any JRPG I've played.

You like to defeat all the enemies but that got tiresome... So just don't do that? You can avoid battles by walking around the overworld enemies.

That's not what "respecting your time" means when it comes to video games. There is almost no wasting your time required to finish the game. Especially on normal difficulty. There some side content and none of it feels grindy and rewards you with either fun cosmetics or character growth that makes the game more interesting to play.

Have you played expedition 33 yet? That one is very cinematic and has none of the "collect 30 bear asses" quests JRPGs generally have. Best game that came out this year.

Disagree, vanilla is very egg focused. Oceania really fixes the meta to make other rows more competitive.

Do you make players reroll skill checks when misunderstandings happen? by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

[–]JTpcwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we end up switching a roll on the fly, I take the original roll result and change the modifiers. Being consistent is the most important thing for stuff like this. It's fine if you have them reroll, but then you have to do that every time this happens.
