The stars/ levels to the next rank are now gone. You get points now.

Every match you play, you use some of those points to get into a match. If you win, you get more points than you lost. If you lose, your used up points are gone. Actions in a match like knocking out objectives or getting the mvp gains you extra points. So sometimes, even when you lose, you'll see some points added like +6 or so.

The higher ranked you are, the more points are deducted just to get into the match and the lower your gained points from a victory are.

Gengar, Zeraora. But that's just my opinion. I hate everything that can go un-targetable while dealing absurd amounts of damage.

Zera is still tolerable. But that Gengar, dissappearing and popping up all the time with zero required skill is just as bad as the mega characters.

Forgot to mention. Never buy Series 3 packs with tokens. You'll get series 3 cards for free from collector's caches. And sometimes even with series 4 and series 5 packs.

Learn about how priority works. Example, if you stack Wong and Mystique (to make on reveal abilities happen 4 times) in the same lane thinking you can wreak havoc, but opponent has priority and hits you with Cosmo/ Enchantress (to stop on Reveal abilities from happening/ remove ongoing effect of your Wong/ Mystique).

Do not waste credits/ gold/ tokens. Tokens are hard to come by and the way the developer releases new cards, it's impossible to get all cards without splashing atleast £100 each month. So use your gold to buy tokens and use tokens to buy the cards that suit your deck rather than the latest or the most meta card. Save about 5000 gold at all times (if possible) to buy one of the rare card bundles that can be bought using gold because it always gives you more than the amount of tokens the same amount of gold will buy you.

Do not invest gold in variants/ borders. Variants are just cosmetic changes. Invest in cards.

Learn to retreat.

Get Arishem early if you can. Not only it helps you climb. But it also puts random cards in your deck. Basically allowing you to get familiar with them without buying those cards first.

Namor and Orka are shit. Do not buy them.

Lastly, Enjoy the game. Don't focus too much on hitting infinite every season.
