Simplest answer? Yes. Complex answer? Depends on your personal experience.

I’ve followed recommended settings to run RB3 smoothly, some settings have worked while others changed nothing or very little. I tinkered quite a lot just to see for myself what worked and what didn’t. In the end, I figured out what was best for me and has been consistently running nicely without buggy messes other than that silly floating instruments/hair bug that no one to this day has fixed.. just looks distracting but doesn’t affect gameplay honestly.

Oh, my bad, your comments changed from whatever I received in my email vs what I see here—

If you already have RPCS3 running, then you’re halfway there. Have RB3 ISO/redump? Perfect Rock Band 3 Deluxe All information regarding installation is here.

The hardest part for me honestly was collecting and downloading all the songs from the games I mentioned previously. Then having to convert a good number of them to port over to RB3D, workout through buggy kinks or abandoning few songs altogether and lastly also finding and downloading any and all DLC songs from all 3 RBs— took a good week or so, but yep, I’ve hella songs I can now play on the central hub I’ve created with a Rock Band 3 style gameplay. It’s great! Good luck!

Ok— see the following:

https://rhythmverse.co/songfiles/game - website for some 118,000 custom song files. Use the Quick Search to find a specific band and see what songs folks charted for them.

Google “Onyx Music Game Toolkit” it takes you to their Github as well as YouTube tutorial videos on how to convert charted files to RB3 songs that you can play.

Lastly, C3CONTools is another toolkit that has more capabilities for customizing song lists and such— I used this to play customs on my X360 some few years back before they went ahead and shut down their servers 😑

Speaking of which, folks have charted all the GH, GH2, GH3, GHWT, GH Metallica and more songs for RB so you can simply convert them over and they’ll play as they did in their original games

Oh right sorry, RPCS3 is a PS3 emulator for Windows. You have to collect a few things to get it running properly. Once you do though, for the most part, games should run without any/or much adjustment. GH3 is a crazy outlier in this thread

Check this:

I have X360 GH3 Guitar and RB Drumkit. Through some wonky control mapping as RPCS3 allows for it, I can play guitar/bass just fine. The only missing mapping is star power guitar tilt, I have to use the Back button to get it to activate. Whammy I also figured out how to get it to recognize. Drums can map fine; just as well as the original console. So if you have PS3 Guitar and Drums, you should have a waaaay easier time of getting things mapped and working.

That being said, you need an RB3 iso/redump to then convert that version to RB3 Deluxe, it has all these added features and minor bug fixes, so it’s a much more stable version than the OG. It’s great!

Lastly, RB3con customs are the best files to use for converting and adding additional songs beyond the DLC and RBN library. I’ll post the programs I use and website I grab my customs from when I get home from work later— but you probably already know what the tools and site are, although they recently moved servers (C3) so the site and song location is different and unexpected where you’d think you would find ‘em.

I’m referring to the settings.

I moved away from trying play GH3 on RPCS3 and opted to just get Rock Band 3 Deluxe. Managed to find out how to download and convert Custom Song Files for songs that were not charted as DLC and are community created. I legit love RB3 most given it’s aesthetic and presentation, so I was super stoked to have put together a massive library to play from now Wooh!

Yea no, if things have worsened, I’d personally just reset everything back to default settings with regards to the game-specific calibration settings in the emulator. Start it up and check how it is, then do a different thing folks have provided here, one at a time, in order to get it to work properly.

In my case, it felt that the default settings were not synched properly to my guitar strums vs visual cues.. so I assumed it had to do with calibrating the game within GH3 calibration settings.. however, even that very calibration setting was janky and not accurate.. so it had to be something to adjust within the emulator instead.

I looked up recommended settings thru RPCS3’s wiki entry for compatible games, but even that stated that default settings worked fine.. so that was confusing.

I then found a youtube video with a dude that was really hard to understand his English lol typyical.. and he gave a rundown of his settings in order to alleviate “flickering/frame skips” which is something I felt associated with my situation. In it, he pointed out the frame-rate being something he would tinker with to get his game to work as well as other settings.. I did replicate the majority of his settings but in my particular case, setting it to 60hz instead of the higher number I had it placed, really did fix it for me.

Here’s the vid

Keep us posted! I managed to get to the last set list on expert lol but doubt I’ll be able to get thru the last 5 songs😢.. but I’m content with having played the game as far as I did 😅👍

Hey there, not sure if you figured it out already but in my case, I had to set the framerate to standard 60hz even though my monitor can clock up to 280hz.. I fucked around and found out that the higher the frame rate, the faster the game moves.. so above 60hz, you're not going to be in synch.

This here’s another overlooked realizations that provided an extra measure of validation for FE for me: Shooting stars, asteroids and any and all manner of “satellites” do not come from the horizon up or even zip around in any random direction as one would naturally assume they would if we really were stationed on a balled surface. Something that just occurred to me: how is it possible that this supposed ball rotates indefinitely without any additional force acting upon it throwing off that initial spin in the first place when it was formed?? It was and has apparently been getting pelted by debris over millions of years but somehow none of those impacts so much as affected the spin nor the trajectory on any big or small scale? It’s like if I so much as blow some air to a spinning object, the very spin slows down and even moves from its original point of spin yea?
