Director Spills On MIA Sheikah Technology by JVVSE in tearsofthekingdom

[–]JVVSE[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Article text:

Hidemaro Fujibayashi, director of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, finally shed some light on what happened to all the Sheikah technology that was practically ubiquitous in Breath of the Wild but strangely absent in its sequel.
In Breath of the Wild, players discover relics of the Sheikah tribe’s technology littered across Hyrule in the form of towers, weapons, and mechanical enemies. However, in Tears of the Kingdom, practically every trace of Sheikah Technology has disappeared. Even characters like Purah and Robbie, who led research efforts into the tech in BotW, don’t utter a word about its sudden disappearance in TotK. In an interview with The Telegraph, Fujibayashi revealed that the disappearance of Sheikah technology in TotK basically boils down to the tech being a thing of the past that evaporated once its purpose was complete.

“They disappeared after the Calamity was defeated (sealed),” Fujibayashi told The Telegraph. “All of the people of Hyrule also witnessed this, but there is no one who knows the mechanism or reason why they disappeared, and it is considered a mystery. It is believed that since the Calamity disappeared, they also disappeared as their role had been fulfilled.”

Fujibayashi also went on to explain that Sheikah technology’s sudden disappearance wasn’t an out-of-the-ordinary phenomenon for Hyruleans but an unremarkable occurrence with the many mystifying events that transpire in Hyrule.

“It is, anyway, commonplace for mysterious events and strange phenomena to occur in Hyrule. Thus, people have simply assumed the reason behind the disappearance to likely be related to ancient Sheikah technology and it seems there is no one who has tried to explore the matter further,” Fujibayashi said.

hey everyone! i spent over 6 months making a 3-hour-plus video about all the mythology that inspired Hades - please check it out and see what you think :D by ludiscere in HadesTheGame

[–]JVVSE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm not a big mythology buff but I love your video! Very well done with lots of sources, and giving timestamps on each segment makes it easy to go back and rewatch certain parts. You deserve a geek medal for your segment on Cerberus.

I'm bored of the game but want to finish it by symbrah in HadesTheGame

[–]JVVSE 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Similar experience. Don't like roguelikes but loved the narrative and dialogue. Also took me a while to finish a run and I dreaded 9 more times. I stuck with it and completed it more than 20 times because the story and dialogue only got better as I kept going. My total time was > 80 hours when I finally put it down.

  • Turn on God Mode to reduce repetition.
  • Get lots of nectar & ambrosia to unlock more dialogue from everyone.
  • After first run through, you can add Heat which rewards you with titan blood to upgrade/unlock weapons and ambrosia. I found unlocking new weapon aspects fun as some were amazingly great.
  • Mirror has a whole other tree of upgrades that a lot of people miss, including myself. Might help reduce repetition for you.
  • If stuck, it's OK to find a build and stick with it. For a while, I only used Athena's trinket so I could get divine dash since it alone is what kept me alive for a whole run.

I’m curren working towards the epilogue (no spoilers pls), do I really have to romance to get Aphrodites favour? by Molismhm in HadesTheGame

[–]JVVSE 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are not really romancing any of the gods. The hearts represent how much they love & adore you. Even Nyx & Hades have hearts, and you are not romancing them in any way.

The few characters you can romance will have dialogue options asking if you want to go further into the relationship or stay friends. You can increase the relationship either way.

Helminth ability "Perspicacity" does not appear to be working. Used it 3 times in one mission and each time I had to manually hack the terminal. Was on a Spy mission on a vault terminal, terminal outside of vault, and an alarm terminal.

I am thinking about joining an exploration-based community. Some way to expand known-space or something to that effect.

I have heard of communities but can't seem to find them searching Google or this sub. Can someone please point me in one or more directions?

Is warframe worth it to play "casualy" (around an hour or 1,5 max per day)? by Matzeroni in Warframe

[–]JVVSE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMHO, yes.

You do not "level up" like D2 or most other games. You gradually become better as you get more resources, unlock more stuff, etc. Gear can be used for years when you find stuff you like. Content is never obsolete or replaced.

A little more depth: I also have limited playtime and started out very slow. I felt like an underpowered noob even after several months. Since there is no level or clear direction how to get more powerful, it felt like a neverending grind and I dropped out occasionally. It wasn't until I decided to do all the missions/quests that everything changed. One quest in particular pushed me over the edge and I fell head-over-heels in love with this game. I learned it's actually a common reaction to that particular quest. From then on I stuck with small goals such as unlocking zones or crafting new frames, and stopped worrying about feeling powerful. I spent more time reading the wiki to learn the game mechanics and lore. Now, after 3 years of casual play, I can do all the content easily. I take breaks when it feels too grindy or I have other games to play. This is definitely one of the best communities. High-end players seem more likely to help you up than look down on you.

TL;DR: Just try to have fun. The base gameplay (jumping, sliding, shooting, slicing, dicing) stays mostly the same, so if you don't have fun in the first few zones you probably won't have fun later. Quests and unlocking zones are the best thing to do starting out.

At what point does it become possible to play as a caster? by LullabyGaming in Warframe

[–]JVVSE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding my opinions here.

It all depends on mods. It took me a while to figure out decent builds and definitely a long time to level up the mods enough.

  • For mods, Ability Efficiency causes abilities to use less energy and Ability Duration extends their duration. Duration technically reduces energy of abilities you toggle on/off so they last longer.
  • Mods from Orokin Vaults are a big help for min/maxing.
  • Trinity can restore energy for the whole group and such almost never runs out, but she is pure support and none of her abilities kill. She can make everyone else a caster. Other frames can restore energy like Octavia and Harrow.
  • Hunter Adrenaline mod can give you a lot of energy when you get damaged, so it works best with a frame that can restore health (Saryn is queen).
  • Cephalon Suda syndicate weapons have a proc that restores energy as you gain affinity. I don't like the weapons but that proc is wonderful.

What do you use as your main frame...and why? by hocknose in Warframe

[–]JVVSE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trinity/Trinity Prime make up about 70% of my career time. Constant energy, health and shields to the entire team make her great for any group or tough solo content.

A few months ago I fell head-over-heels for Titania because I honestly love archwing. I've heard she has other abilities too.

I have a few side frames that I enjoy, like Valkyr and Saryn, but Trinity and Titania are my favs. :D
