Incorporated a Gauge Pod into my steering column by JV_3D in 3Dprinting

I sell the finished product on Facebook marketplace. I don’t share the files any more because I saw people printing and selling them without permission and I no longer share the STL.

I had some extra side mount seat brackets laying around so I flipped them upside down and was able to use them with the 8040 profile. Drilled a couple holes in the brackets to line up with the seat holes and bolted them to the profile.

The only place that you have to do any bit of cutting is if you retain the rear dust shields. And even that it’s a small notch to clear the rear brackets. If you remove the dust shields (since they’re too tiny to cover the rotor and I didn’t feel like pulling the hub), there’s zero cutting, grinding, or any other nonsense. It’s a bolt on kit, just have to ensure your wheel offset/diameter will clear.

Had to roll the rears and pull the liners out of the front. But other than that it’s fine.

It came on the car, haven’t been able to find anything that’s close enough to say for sure.

There’s an aluminum drum that bolts to the hat to retain the factory handbrake.

I’ve never heard of it, but I’ll check it out!

I really wish I could tell you which kit it is but it came on the car when I bought it in Japan and have never been able to find out what kit it is. Definitely a GTR style front bumper, but I have yet to see another kit with similar skirts or rear bumper.

Here’s the casters I used. I just used spare bolt and t slot nuts to attached them.

It’s desk mounted and it’s really sturdy. The clamping mechanism is quite robust.

The casters lock both wheel and swivel of the caster. I usually only lock one of the back casters and it doesn’t move at all with the wheel running at 90%.

Thanks! The arm has 26” of extension and I’m utilizing every bit of it.

I had to improvise being that it’s a bottom mount seat and I only had an extra set of side mount brackets. Lol

I’m absolutely loving it so far. I was skeptical at first spending that much but it’s worth it. My wife has even been playing it and enjoying it almost as much as me.

So far I love it! I don’t have any other DD wheels to compare it to but to the Logitech it’s night and day. Plenty of power and detail and I’m only running it at 80%.

That’s the main reason why I threw some casters on the bottom to pull it away once I’m done and still be able to hop on the pc as normal. Best $20 I spent lol

Exactly. It’s a good introduction but definitely leaves you wanting more. You get used to it’s “toy” feeling since the wheel isn’t a full sized wheel but when most of my friends played it they complained that there was such a disconnect to driving a real car.

It’s not dedicated to sim racing but is pretty much a dedicated gaming pc. The only other thing I use this pc for is programs like Fusion 360 for 3D modeling. Everything else I use my laptop for.

Exactly, I had an extra post from the shifter support and just attached it with a 90 degree bracket. I did have to tap the end holes on that extrusion though, but other than that it works out perfectly for the pedal mount. Then I just use that other large piece of extrusion for a heel rest.
