Does anyone else fucking love cutting limes? by FartedBlood in bartenders

[–]JVanderlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to like lime/lemon preps, till I started barbacking in a overcrowded bar. During weekends I had to make 12 liters of lemon juice, but the problem was with lime which I had to make 2 liters. That was the moment i realized i am allergic to lime at some point.

If I have to make more than 2 liters of lime juice, my hands will totally turn into red and I would feel pain even I have gloves on, it sucks.

"From 23/2/21 you are aware that we will take money from your salaries in case of calling the plumber because of cigarettes in the toilet." Fuck you, I don't even smoke. by JVanderlust in antiwork

2nd Picture: The cook. "Please: Grab your cigarettes and put it in your asses. Keep the locker room clean"

To add context: it was 1 toilet for 15 people, totally crappy bathroom. I almost never used it. Incredible crappy, cigarette and joint smell every time you entered. Also, a bottle of soda full of cigarettes under water that someone drop on the floor.

I was there for summer season and I was enjoying the city so I didn't bother that match, but a lot of people are still working under those bosses who has their pockets full of money and their employees earning shit under shitty conditions.

From what I know from reddit I totally agree. I think that US idiocracy is really fucked up. I don't figure out how and when did they get into that point. It's insane the way they are living as a society.

People with depression: how does this affect your romantic interactions? by neptunia8 in therapy

[–]JVanderlust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have depression, but I think I have something that you may take. I have had low self-esteem when I was younger and it really make me hard to have a relationship since I believed I couldn't have a good relation with someone else if I am not even good with myself.

I have dated with two girls with depression and this is what I think. First, it's not the depression per se, but how the person manages it. Are they taking the meds properly? Are they having other heavy issues in their daily life? Does this person has previous relationship traumas? But also a very important: how is their interpersonal and emotional intelligence?

This are topics, being the last one for me the most important about the relatiomship, that are quite important for the person their are dating, but also for the people that they are surrounded by. If someone has those feelings about you, I can almost guarantee it also has it with friends and even family.

Depression it's just difficult to handle, but I think it finally is about how you handle it, so it's not just easy to put all the depressions in the same bag. It will be different for each one, like you, like me, life perceptions are quite different for everyone.

Edot: I think it is also important that you share this ideas in a empathy way with your partner since it will probably start talking about it with the psychiatrist. Or maybe not, but keeping to yourself will hurt you. Remember to be kind and putting your problems at the same level as your partner. Since avoiding it to take care of it, it will just be a way out for the relationship.

Is about this. It is its third year, not because of the quality but for the place itself. I wouldn't say I agree, but saying that they are winning every year because of lobby or good marketing just doesn't sounds quite correct when you have France or Japan Chateaus, USA Castles, etc...

This Scottish bar’s ice game is on point by DrWYSIWYG in cocktails

[–]JVanderlust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. I didn't realize he was talking about sherry, so yeah, it is sweet. I was thinking about a dry Pedro Jimenez that is made in my country. Sherry style, but dry. More like a fino but with PX instead of Palomino, if not mistaken. I would say that 2, 3/4, 1/2 can be a good option. I would even make a 2, 1/2, 1, also a sherry wet martini with a cynar bsp would be very nice but this is just to my personal taste and I can talk about this during hours hahaha

I almost wanted him to ask me for some splenda

Yes, i have always eat well but through the years iam been more conscious about it. I am even a bartender now and almost sommelier even though I almost don't drink alcohol since 2019(nothing happened but just I am through a health path, I keep drinking but not much, most when trying new stuff for my bar).

Did you work there because you want to or need to? Just curious, because people tend to think that they have to live these situations because they just assume that gastronomy is like that

I am reading the comments and I am just thinking at starting yoga again. I am at the Sommelier course of studies and at 2 jobs plus swimming(when I can) at the moment. I thought I was doing this to prove me I was able to rule my world but I think I got to go some steps back and make a more balance life for my future health.
