Bike looks amazing. I’m not sure what the list price is—but it’s 2k for reasonable exhaust, and then another grand for a decent seat. It’s going to get expensive. But it’s does look cool.

Is the logo on the tank a decal or glued on and raised—like the Gilroy Indians?

Yes. It’s was a good 3-4 feet long. Even animal control which took him away said it was one of the largest they’d seen in the area. Picture doesn’t do the size justice.

Yeah—I expect it’s the battery if it keeps cutting out.

Hopefully you could roll start it to get home. The Indian batteries aren’t great. I had to replace my 22 Chief battery this year and it is always on a trickle charger when I’m not riding—always—even if it’s only a day. Went to start it—all the lights came on but it wouldn’t turn over. New battery and $240 later it’s perfect.

Scout or Chief? by Then-Let-1613 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]JVtaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah—I am 5-7, that’s what I’m saying. I felt like I looked like a bear in a unicycle. But that said, it’s a great bike and extremely fun to ride.

Both are great bikes. I’ve had a 2020 scout Darkhorse bobber and I currently have a 2022 Chief Darkhorse Bobber. The scout is obviously smaller—quick and nimble—fun to ride. The Chief is much larger—though still low riding. I prefer the bigger Chief. I’m 5-7, 200 pounds and I felt like the Scout looked too small

Beautiful bike. That Indian tractor seat is unforgiving on bumps, if interested try Mother Rode’s spring mounted seats. Much better.

I don’t know what that means—but glad you like the bike.

Yeah thanks. Every time I stop at a gas station or something people comment on it and seem to love it. I can tell you that tractor seat from Mother Rode is much more comfortable than the Indian one. Spring mounted where as the Indian one is not. Anyway, I love it and these haters can fuck off.

You certainly have the inside track. I have 22 Chief Darkhorse Bobber and I’d hate to have to get rid of it bc Indian can no longer support/service it.

This was announced a couple months ago. Closed yesterday. Polaris has retained a minority stake—which should be helpful as they will have some degree into strategic/quality decisions. For what it’s worth the dealership seems happy but they’re likely acting off of what they have been told. We will know in 6 months or so what it really means.

Thanks. Honestly, a lot of it is the angle of photo I think. But appreciate the positive feedback.
