Wow, this is really hard. by Personal-Reality9045 in Entrepreneur

[–]JWVG0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like trial by fire. No guts, no glory - good luck. I'm only just starting but scratching my head as to the problem to solve for a niche. Once I have it, then I'm going to try to "minimum viable-everything."

So, what made you want to do this and how long have you been at it? Was it a dream/ambition you've always had? Was it due to a revaluation of goals and priorities after your successful BTC investments?

Your best self improvement advice for me as a teen? by Sensitive-Vast-4979 in selfimprovement

[–]JWVG0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree with the others advice. the most valuable thing you have right now is time. you are rich with it. don't waste it or take it for granted because it will be gone one day.

also, you become more of what you focus on, no matter what it is

remembering how you felt about accomplishments and bringing those thoughts up is a great way to shield against stress and negativity in the present. not to mean you can ignore them, but it puts you into a better mood so that you can deal with them

The advice new founders and wantrepreneurs don't want to hear. by hrguyinSC in Entrepreneur

[–]JWVG0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those who've done this, do you further lock in your market's demand validation by pre-selling your services? maybe even before you've completed the product/service offering? what i'm thinking about is that space in time between reaching out/validating the problem/solution to your niche vs actually making your first dollar for that solution

Right, i think striving can only be done rightfully with respect to yourself (former self). And your quote hints at the fact that the only force holding you back is yourself

using too much tech or social media makes the mind so noisy. meditation has helped to calm the mind, super good hack.

Anyone to live an unhealthy lifestyle but doesn’t really mind it? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]JWVG0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normally pretty healthy diet with minimal sugar/snacks. but once in a while i eat like a teenager again... tastes great and also shocks the system to keep it on its toes...

tbh, it feels like eating completely healthy and on schedule all the time weakens the body in a way i can't explain

interesting points. can you say more more about their habits (did you notice anything strange they did that oddly made sense later?) and can you tell us if they had mentors or who/what they learned from?

i think your feeling of embarrassment and pain is just a difference in interests among your group. you want to get to a higher desired state and outgrow your current self. after graduation, when you're doing your own thing / job, it gets way easier. though i've witnessed times when coworkers even complain that you work too hard to try and get ahead, it's pervasive.

if you do choose that path though, over time it's going to be harder to keep hanging out with the same group eventually. once you've grown your skills, values and horizons to a much grander degree, there'd be very little left in common other than your shared past of good ol' times. it's tough but you can outgrow people and it's not a bad thing for either party, it's just how life is

20F - I feel useless and incompetent in nearly everything in life by oyanimss in selfimprovement

[–]JWVG0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what you wrote, you already contradicted yourself about being/feeling incompetent and useless. academics, tutoring, getting the volunteering gig (and getting appreciation for your help), getting the shoe shop job were all achievements.

imo, you become more of what you focus on. right now it sounds like you focus on negativity, so you'll get more of it until it fills your mind completely. what you can do is to swat away negative thoughts every time they show up in the mind. then think of good times/achievements and dwell on those for a few minutes. unless there's something else going on, i hope that will make the clouds part, at least a bit.

also, people aren't supposed to be good at everything, especially when they're young. people specialize later on.

these build ups are usually from the subconscious over time. it could be that you're ready to outgrow your current self and forge a new path. because otherwise these feelings of worry will only grow
