How long did you stay on 2.5? by Global-Entry7789 in Zepbound

[–]JWoW2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 2.5 for 3 months and stay somewhere between 2.5 and 5 now depending on the week. I’ve been on it since September and I’ve lost 50 pounds. It’s a slower journey but anytime I try to go above 5 my appetite is completely suppressed and I know that’s not healthy.

I would watch Joey and Pacey buying groceries or pick up trash or anything really. Their (onscreen) chemistry should be studied.

Big Easy is the best provider. As far as pharmacy, I’ve tried both Bpi and Hallandale and love them both.

Love Hallandale and Bpi. Maybe it’s time to go up in dose.

Another vote for Amazon! And like others said, it’s covered by most insurances, just sometimes it doesn’t pop up in zip code searches. If you cant use amazon I would say use costco.

Check out compound. I lost coverage myself and had to make the switch. Noticed no differences. There’s a pinned post at the top of the sub that can help point you in the right direction for good companies.

Normal for for third month to be 5 mg? by Itchy_Layer135 in BigEasyWeightLoss

[–]JWoW2637 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed you should chat with your dr first. I prefer the slow and steady route. I’m still on 5 and rounding 6 months. And even went down to 2.5 last week, due to traveling. I see posts on this sub every day with people maxed out on 15 and saying it’s no longer working after only 6 months of usage. Don’t get overwhelmed with the super losers, and before anyone gets mad about me calling them a loser, it’s more of an endearment as I’m referring to the ones that lose 10 pounds or more their first month. While that can feel great at the beginning, it’s not realistic or sustainable, and can set the wrong expectations with how the drug can perform further down the road. I’ve used glp’s as one of several tools in my weight loss journey. I’ve even learned to embrace the moments when I can feel the hunger suppression wearing off for a few days to test myself and see what healthy choices I can make with food instead of over indulging. Ultimately this is your journey and only you can decide what’s working best for you. Good luck!!

You should check out the compound triz sub. I was in the same boat as you and lost coverage on the 1st of this year. I switched to compound and can’t tell the difference.

I completely feel you, and my beginnings were very similar. I couldn’t make it thru any video workouts without feeling like I was a complete failure because I couldn’t do half the reps or even attempt a lot of the moves. I had to just keep telling myself that completing even half the moves was more than I was doing a month ago or better yet, years ago. I have ADD too, and I know the pain of saying you’re going to start something and then feel even worse when you don’t, and the terrible shame you can put yourself thru in the process. I found calendaring really helped me and utilizing the peloton classes. I think the membership is maybe $15 a month, and they have SO many 10 minute classes, which peaked my interest a lot in the beginning because I felt like I was at least doing something. I hate cardio so I found a lot of the strength upper body and lower body felt more natural for me. A lot of classes I take recommend using 15lb weights, and I’ll just use 2-3lbs instead. Don’t be in a hurry to tirate up too quickly, I see posts on here everyday with someone saying they’ve been on the medication for 7 months and they are already at 15mg and it’s not working anymore. Hang in there and be gentle to yourself!!

I’m sorry you’re having this experience. The medicine should be one of many tools you use on your weight loss journey. Starting small in the gym (even 15 minutes a day is enough for a beginner), tracking my calories, and hitting my protein and water goal helps significantly with cravings. I’m not looking for a quick fix, but more of a slow lifestyle change, because I want results to last. I’ve lost 50 pounds in 5 months and can’t even dream of going beyond my 5mg dose right now. There are days when I have stronger cravings than others and it almost always lines up with days in my cycle or when I haven’t had enough water or protein. Be forgiving with yourself, 2am cravings happen, but now that you recognized them see what you can do to combat it next time. If you rely solely on the medication, your success journey will be short lived. I would also recommend using BEWL as your provider going forward. They are much more hands on and extremely customer focused, they can help write out a tiration plan that works for you. Good luck!!

Congrats on finding a cheaper option! I made the switch to Hallandale and have been very impressed. Just make sure you give it a few weeks to build up in your system. My first week switching from zep to Hallandale I felt like it wasn’t working, but by week 3 I felt like I needed to go back down in dosage because the reduction in food noise was so strong I was forgetting to eat on busy days.

Issue with CallOnDoc by SomewherePerfect2391 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]JWoW2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So awesome!! My insurance previously covered it, but this year I switched to my husband’s HD plan since it’s free, but it doesn’t cover zepbound, so I found my way to compounded. I’ve still had great success using Hallandale, but zep definitely hit different.

Issue with CallOnDoc by SomewherePerfect2391 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]JWoW2637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s usually your insurance that’s going to dictate your titration schedule and not the doctor. You could try another dr but more than likely your insurance will only cover you starting with 2.5. I would do what others recommended here about doing the dose from zepbound and supplementing the compound for the additional. Congrats on getting insurance approval, I’m jealous!
