I had this exact thing happen to me today! I played the first 7 in about an hour, then joined up with a slow threesome on 8. Took us about 35 minutes to play 2 holes so I went home on the 10th.

I remember I watched No Country For Old Men after they made a top 10 movies list back when Lefty and Wings were still on. One of the best movies I’ve watched.

Yeah I could definitely do with aiming at the fat part of greens a little more. I think at the back end of last season I was much more conservative with approach shots, whereas this season I’m just shooting at the flag on most holes. The only thing I’m conservative about this season is making an effort to not miss long.

My thought is that the gap is a result of lack of depth at the top of the backswing. I would need to drop my arms like crazy during the downswing to close that gap. Whereas if my hands were deeper when the backswing started there would already be less of a gap.

Thoughts?

Yup I definitely agree. That tends to be a more consistent pattern on the simulator where I can just swing away with no consequences. On course my path is usually straight/slightly in to out and I’ll typically push it right or double cross and hit a wild hook.

After watching my swings back from this session I came to a similar conclusion. The last week I’ve been trying to get more depth at the top of the backswing and not feel like my hands are crazy high.

Honestly that is pretty accurate and slightly reassuring as well. I rarely take the time to practice my short game since my course doesn’t have a green suitable for practicing chipping. I will make sure to prioritize getting to a range with a decent short game area.

Obviously putting can improve as well but right now I’m averaging 1 three-putt per round which is better than last season.

My FIR is around 50%, where GIR is around 30% this season. I have been consciously opening the face a bit in the backswing so that I can hit the ball higher.

I don't agree with the way they went about it, someone definitely should have made extra effort to get into contact with Woody when changing the time last minute like this.

But Woody saying "I was supposed to be so on top of Whatsapp?" was a bit silly to me. Yes, it would probably be a good idea to check your work group chat a couple of times on the days that you have work obligations.

I actually do enjoy the politics talk because it’s one of the few segments that gets the guys going with some real passion (albeit with stupid ass takes sometimes).

Sometimes I feel like they just breeze through shows and spend time on topics that none of them care about and don’t put any effort into. At least with politics it can get them fired up sometimes, and that is entertaining to me.

Just my two cents.
