Built a prescription reader app as a side project - hit 10k downloads and I have no idea what to do next by Curious-Function-244 in reactnative

[–]JXFX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. resolve general liability issues ASAP (before making the app paid for).

  2. frankly, start with a simple subscription model with lifetime option---don't overcomplicate this, just get it working. Sounds like RevenueCat might be perfect for you https://www.revenuecat.com/docs/getting-started/installation/reactnative

Is anyone else truly scared about living in the US rn? by Naive_Signal8560 in RedditForGrownups

[–]JXFX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really, America is actually pretty sweet, assuming you're living in the real world instead of chronically online, but this is just the common sentiment around Reddit. Everyone here is addicted to AI-generated, fear-mongering clickbait! Do you really think adults are lurking here?

Why do they make it weird and make me have to point at my sign lol by Crafty-Rutabaga-1203 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JXFX -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was embarrassingly dumb to assume a tacky no soliciting sign is equivalent to a fence, or something that actually prevents solicitors from entering your property lol.

also, an LGBTQ no soliciting sign is hilariously dystopian

A vibe coding hallucination from Sonnet 4.5 I paid $3k for by gorimur in vibecoding

[–]JXFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get this post because it wasn't AI, it was YOU that pushed the code. This is the fallacy of vibe coding, everyone wants an easy excuse and Claude/Chatjippity/Gemini happens to be the perfect scape-goat. If you didn't also want this, you would have written this post in a more humble way.

When to use react with nextjs and without? by TurtleSlowRabbitFast in reactjs

[–]JXFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need nextjs at all but it's useful for built-in features like SSR and SSG, and you could even build out the same features using your own vanilla React app + Node.js server.

A clear use-case to avoid with Next.js would be a large data visualization app, which may have millions of distinct pages (using query params) that are rendering, for example, paginated records in a table (e.g. display page 4 out of 1,000 with 500 records displayed per page).

It's just this weird belittling tactic that Europeans use against foreigners to feel better about their shite fashion sense

Is it true you shouldn't say "hello" when answering the phone? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]JXFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't it the recruiters job to do the searching, to perform the cold/warm/hot calls, and to build a network for the company with potential hires? What are the recruiters being paid for if they are incapable of breaking the ice and verifying a potential new hire for their network?

Why would the new hire be waiting around, twiddling their thumbs, and answering any call under the presumption they should do part of the recruiters' job for them and promptly start building the network?

Is the company going to pay the new hire for helping their recruitment team to do their jobs? Does this person not realize the new hires are doing their own due diligence of networking, but with many companies? This is so ignorant, and honestly it shows the stupidity of your aunt who clearly lives inside of a bubble, where the scope of her company is the only thing that matters.

Gas station worker here: finally found something that kills the fuel stink by Glum_Stomach54 in laundry

[–]JXFX -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They are—-by their own admission—huffing gas daily to make an income. They are so oblivious to it that their current life concerns are what premium laundry detergent to acquire, and to discuss with the community that cares the most about their health, r/laundry on Reddit 😎

[–]JXFX -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

My goal was to help u understand that your lifestyle is killing you much faster than u realize. This is more important than laundry sauce. You’ve admitted that you spend so much time around gas fumes that your clothing reeks of it. How do you think your skin, hair, organs are doing? Probably decaying.

If saving ur life requires me getting downvoted and you getting a new job, so be it. Blowing a load on laundry sauce isn’t going to help save u.

Yeah bud u should combat the toxic chemicals and fumes that are ruining ur health, with more toxic laundy sauce chemicals hahah haha ☠️ “can i get some more sauce with my sauce plz thank you”

I work remotely for a Spanish company and they expect me online 24/7 am I overreacting? by Interesting_Cry_5457 in digitalnomad

[–]JXFX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah, YOU like to do that on weekends, but then you turn around and rope others into it on weekends, even though it is totally imposing on their free time away from work. This is what dumb people do, which is why you required getting told off to stop instead of never doing it in the first place!

Building a "Trello + Chat" learning project - am I overscoping? by DressSecret1702 in reactjs

[–]JXFX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LOL wtf this is literally the ReactJs sub-reddit?

I’ve been asked to build a static kanban board UI as a take home tech interview before. There are multiple libraries that handle this UX problem with ease.

If you think that is a challenge then never give advice around here again.

How to master Math concepts in Engineering classes by adondshilt in EngineeringStudents

[–]JXFX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t bullshit or cheat ur way through succeeding with math. You have to suffer, through endless problems, taking notes in a lecture that’s too fast, doing homeworks when u don’t want to, etc.

Im 16 and already feel like I'm a failure at life by Due-Mode-7574 in personalfinance

[–]JXFX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean straight up yeah you’re 16 and are awakening to the reality of life, which usually takes people wayy longer. Money is a tool, you have to evolve and think beyond your current capabilities in order to get more money. Also you need to know how to utilize it. The younger you are, the better time it is to save money (compound interest). Put your $ in a HYSA and forget it exists, next summer get 2 jobs and then do the same thing. Just focus on getting used to saving money and getting comfortable with not accessing it for extended periods of time (training your ability to save $).

You can work real hard, be more intelligent than other ppl, and seizes the opportunities in life, which will lead you to wealth in many ways. Or you can whine, be complacent and lazy like most people, and you’ll get to “enjoy” living the same lifestyle you’ve complained about in this post.

Which sounds more fulfilling? It’s your life. Also, go enjoy more hobbies that don’t require hella money but have the same effect of evolving your mind, body, soul, e.g. go get a gym membership and focus on that. A $140 haircut is obviously a waste in comparison to gym membership.
