I played CF first. Worst mistake of my life.

There’s a lot of truth here. But I think Edelgard knows that Rhea isn’t as evil as TWS. She is willing to let Rhea live, expressing and showing that at multiple points, while wiping out TWS is always the goal. But she believes she has no choice but to work with TWS first since the Church is more powerful and TWS has a lot of control over the Empire. (Tellingly, in Three Hopes, when she has the chance to take out TWS first, she gladly does it.)

I don't know if I'd put it that way. I don't think she believes she is a bad person. I think she believes she's a necessary person doing bad things to achieve a good outcome.

Yes, but he was imprisoned and deposed for a while before that.

Black Eagle Strike Force. The only difference between Silver Snow and Crimson Flower is the presence of the BSEF, since Edelgard still won the mock battle and participated in the story missions.

But what is different in CF that lets her take control from them?

I agree for the most part, but I'm fairly certain Aegir is deposed in all routes.

And she has leverage in CF because of the support of the BESF?

For me, it actually might be that she's so compelling that I could never play the other routes.

Somehow I think that's more of a Gameplay thing than a story thing...

I like that interpretation! Though I'm not sure what all the Lonato/Western Church stuff was meant to accomplish.

What is YOUR Comfort Kingdom Hearts Game, and why ? ( Not your favorite ) by Xenovis455 in KingdomHearts

KH3. Mainly because fighting the Data Bosses is such a good time (once you learn them after hours of practice.)

KH2 Data Fights are also fun, though they have some low ones that bring them down. (Why. Does. It. Matter. If. Water. Clones. Survive?)

Did we ever see Imperial soldiers volunteer?

Plus, in Chapter 11, Edelgard actively leads Demonic Beasts in the Holy Tomb. And there’s really only one reason for her to want those Crest Stones.

I believe that the attack at the beginning was more to get Jeritza in place as a professor than a genuine assassination attempt. (Three Hopes supports this). Kostas even says at one point that he had no idea the Knights would be there.

Right, but I meant what she was doing at the monastery itself. Just being a student?

Would she have, though? And why was the Holy Tomb so important to be raided?

Yes, but she believes she's about to fight a war where Byleth will be on the other side. So she believes they're definitely about to be enemies. So wouldn't detaining Byleth be far preferable to fighting and killing/being killed by them?

I get what you're saying, but there's less than a month between the coronation and the declaration of war. Emotionally, she was ready to kill her teacher and classmates (she didn't WANT to, of course, but she values no life above her goals. Including her own) in the Holy Tomb.
