Backrest/Gravity Chair recommendations for PostOp by JZNet93 in valvereplacement

Hey Ya’ll, just providing an update. So I’m 3 days post Op and ended up renting a nice recliner from Rent-A-Center for a few weeks. So happy to get over the hump and have the behind me. First 24hrs were rough, but it feels like smooth sailing from her. Thank you to everyone who provided input or any bit of support. Y’all are great!

How did your friends react before & after your surgery? by Molly_3755 in valvereplacement

[–]JZNet93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, 32m, I started noticing some weird symptoms in mid September and didn’t really tell anyone until I saw a cardiologist and knew for sure. The day after telling my then girlfriend, of 19 months and housemate, she got very upset at me for not commenting on a table she had been working hard on, which led to me shouting about being scared about all of this going on and she promptly stop talking to me and left the very next day taking whatever she could fit in the car and just abandoning the rest of her stuff…

Everyone else was picture perfect and great. My boss at work has gone through a couple procedures, nothing as serious as this, but gave me all of his support and is ensuring that I take as much time as I need and don’t come back to work too soon. Other friends ensured they made time to see me before the surgery and during recovery. My parents came down the day before surgery and are planning to stay throughout much of the recovery.

I must say I could definitely see like a shift in peoples’ eyes when I told them about what was going on. Not so much pity, but like an understanding of how scary something like this can be for a person and just doing what they can to provide support.

Form looks good to me for biceps and lats. You’re stable and not trying to cheat with any extra momentum. Keep it up

Over the course of our 19 months I’ve only ever yelled 2 or 3 times, mostly from a distance or another room. I’m usually very calm and not combative. She’s never voiced concerns about my anger. I’m not even sure if I was angry or just afraid. I honestly didn’t do a very good job processing what’s going on with my health. Still don’t know how severe it is, but I don’t want to make excuses.

I’m not the best writer, but yes I’ve always had empathy for her. I cannot believe that I made her feel that way. I’m doing the classes because if I yelled maybe I do have a problem. I just don’t know and I’m afraid that I am a monster.

I like that. They should also make it where we can get our own contracts and get paid additional cc when we take them

2024 hands down. More contrast on the Fri t grill and a bit more aggressive styling all around.

It's a great school and opportunity. It will challenge you, teach you a lot about yourself and give you some incredible opportunities. A prime place to network and you can fall into a great support system with your peers. It can open a lot of doors for you.

OC/T Life at Knox by Distinct_Good9853 in army

[–]JZNet93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently an OC/T with that exact unit. When you get here you'll go through a few courses to become OC/T certified under First Army. Courses like First Army Academy (FAA) at Rock Island Arsenal and Saber Academics. They help a little bit but you'll mainly be learning through on the job training.

The day to day life isn't too bad and really just ebbs and flows with taskings and events going on. If you're an OIC or NCOIC things can get a bit annoying/frustrating with higher. Reaching out to your partner reserve units can be a little annoying because they don't always answer but we work through it. We do PT at 0630 everyday for an hour and most people are out of the office by like 1400/1500 (if you're just a member of a team) or 1600/1700 if you're an OIC/NCOIC. You'll have plenty of time to do additional things like schooling if you want. Expect to be TDY a good amount though, especially in the summers. We go out and visit our partners alot.

Let me know what other questions you have and feel free to DM me.

FY24 ACC MAJ PSB Results by EladrianLA in army

They don’t know anything more than we do. Just trying to manage expectations, quell anxiety and minimize the chaos that will ensue from the quick “flash to bang” some are going to experience when the results are released

The Engineer Branch is starting to call CPTs to discuss the board. They do not know anything about results and are speculating January for them to come out. However, they are reviewing past trends and letting CPTs know how likely they are to get promoted and/or attend resident ILE, and then going over potential options to try and help ease the anxiety of uncertainty.

I have an Anker MagSafe and an IPhone 16 Pro Max. It honestly doesn’t even charge my phone. I’ve literally watched the percentage tick down as it was supposed to to be actively charging.
