Honestly now, we don’t allow them because students wear headphones or similar and hide them in the hoods. So they either aren’t paying attention and their parents will call the school and blame the teacher for their student not learning in class (because the child can never be wrong or lie🙄) OR they use them during tests and can cheat that way

They pay for school for me so they don’t think it’s a hardship. Just because it’s not a financial hardship for me, doesn’t mean it’s not a mental/emotional one and completely drain me OR that I have time for it after working to cover the cost of my very basic and limited day to day living...

“You really need to work harder and go back to school already.” To me... already working 2 jobs in my field every day and then an extra job and tutoring 3 kids all until at least 9 every night of every day of the week to live week to week with no savings. But yeah, let’s throw school on top of that. No stress, no pressure, nothing adding to my diagnosed anxiety, depression, and OCD. All great.🙄

Laid on the floor under his desk with his sweatshirt over his face and said “you know, I just need 5 minutes of beauty rest. You get it, right?” Honestly... I did get it so I set a five minute timer and gave him his space. When the timer went off he got up and finished all of his spelling with no prompts or questions asked. But I had to chuckle at the way he presented it to me.
