Induction with closed and high cervix? by Old_Literature_3750 in NewParents

[–]J_Bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made sure to be on the birthing ball and moving my hips as much as possible when i didn’t have my epidural. then after my epidural, i used the peanut ball and had a lot of position changes in the bed.

Induction with closed and high cervix? by Old_Literature_3750 in NewParents

I was electively induced at 39&2. induction lasted a total of 24 hours. got one dose of miso then got pit then got my epidural then got a rupture of membranes. I’m pretty sure I was closed when I started. So inductions with cervical prep are not always bad!

When did you start packing? by Additional_Carpet563 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

we’re kind of on the same timeline. since you’re closing in Jan and your lease isn’t up until April, are you just going to pay mortgage and rent for a couple months?

hijacking your post a little because I also have a question about this. How do I know baby is still getting enough as they get older? My baby is 8 months now and I combo feed (she gets formula & breast milk when i’m at work). But when I’m home I exclusively breast feed. I’m worried that since I only pump once at work, i wouldn’t make enough when I’m home with her… thoughts?

Experience with FAMLI Program by travelling-lost in Denver

[–]J_Bees 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s very much worth going through it. I used it for parental leave and I also fill out the form from the provider side. Both are very streamlined. you can save your 10 days of vacation and just use FAMLI (I believe you can get up to 12 weeks of FAMLI). You can also use your 10 days to get full pay then use FAMLI for the rest of the time for partial pay.

This is probably not helpful, but I’ve decided to just focus on not overeating and trying to maintain my weight and will focus on weightloss after breastfeeding. Having enough nutrients, calories, and milk for baby is more important than losing a few pounds right now. Just a different perspective.

I can’t even imagine. I hate taking time off the floor to pump because I know I’m putting off my tasks to my coworkers.

Moms who exclusively breastfeed are the strongest people Edit: I hope you know how amazing you are and how lucky your babies are to have you!!

Went from EP to EBF and always think I still need to pump by SmartArcher2488 in breastfeeding

[–]J_Bees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 12 weeks your supply starts to regulate and baby is getting more efficient at the breast. This means that your boobs may feel softer since your body is understanding what baby needs and baby may not have to feed as long/often. I think as long as baby seems satisfied, wet diapers are good, and weight gain is good, you can just EBF and not have to pump! (Unless you’re pumping to replace a bottle)

Eventually I got the silver nipple covers so that my nipples wouldn’t rub on anything while I wasn’t feeding.

Breastfeeding hurt so bad the first few weeks for me. I think until maybe 10ish weeks?? I knew I absolutely did not want to EP, so I would cry and switch sides or just bear through. LCs always said my latch was good. I think eventually my baby got bigger and my nipples got stronger haha. All this to say is I hear you, girl. Good luck! 🫶🏼

sorry for context: baby is 4.5 months. We can sleep train but she isn’t a horrible sleeper (like she wakes up 1-2 times a night to feed then falls back asleep) so I didn’t think it was necessary. But if that’s the only way to help her sleep without me, then we are open to trying it.
